I usually don’t post enough on social media to recap every show or run, but last weekend was a really special one so I wanted to throw up some belated memories that my photographer friends captured of the weekend. I am so thrilled that I was able to bring this amazing Grahame Lesh & Friends band (@brashap@damiancalcagne@elliottmpeck@justinmazer@gnatdub ) to the East Coast and pack these rooms and theaters. We were able to weave our Grateful Dead favorites in with choice covers, Phil & Friends songs, a couple originals, and even debut two new songs that come from the Grateful Dead lineage. @damiancalcagne ’s “Mountain’s Other Side” was born (like “The Mountain Song”) out of musical fragments left to us by the legends at the PERRO sessions, and the Lesh family’s “The Shaman’s Song”, written mostly by my dad Phil and my brother Brian (with a few musical contributions thrown in by yours truly!) in 2021 & 2022.
Thanks to my band for rocking and to all of you who came to a show and let us spread out and explore this music <3 Setlists at my website if you dig a little!

My son Daniel once said to me, “Dad, I wish I grew up in the 70’s, you guys had good old fashioned fun.” Well son, we are still having good old fashioned fun, it’s still out there!
What a magical run with Grahame Lesh and the gang. Such a good time on the road!
What’s super special about this version of GLAF, is that we are growing new material from seeds left in the field of the Dead. This tour debuted “Shaman’s Song” and “Mountain’s Other Side”. Shaman’s Song was written by Grahame, Phil and Brian Lesh, in Phil’s latest years. A new Lesh masterpiece! So fun!
“Mountain’s Other Side” grew out of a chord progression and riff which Garcia, Jorma and David Crosby started back in (the good ol’) early 70’s. From this we built a brand new tune. The lyrics and melody came together around the time of Phil’s passing, and my mom’s passing not long after. This was truly transcendental to play and sing on this tour.
And "Jupiter" penned by Robert Hunter and Grahame... which we also recorded last week at the PineBox.
Equinox showed up as well, a lost treasure from the outtakes of Terrapin Station (which the Dead never played live or released). And my fav, Mountain Song another started in the 70’s by Garcia, Hunter and Crosby, which Brian and Phil finished in later years.
Having Elliott Peck join us and bring her soul and warmth was full circle, as she’s the one that got me into this whole mess! :-) I even got to perform her show stopper, “The Colors Here”.
❤️
So grateful to be making music with my friends. Singing the song that never ends. Feels free.

Project 2025 (page 159) proposes privatizing TSA, cutting costs by up to 20%, and deunionizing the workforce while shifting airport security to private contractors. Now, as TSA faces staffing strain, the government is already bringing in support like #ICE at airports. #Project2025 #TSA #Airports
The document outlines replacing federal screeners with private companies while TSA keeps oversight, alongside broader plans to downsize and restructure federal agencies. Today’s reality shows a system under pressure, with staffing gaps and temporary fixes that mirror early stages of that shift, raising questions about whether short term measures could become long term structural changes.
