This was my first network gig, and the shoot went by so quickly, it was over in a blink of an eye. When I shot this I had an all day shoot in Philly the day before anda high fever. I'm just glad I got through it in one piece.
Thank you @kreativartists for getting me this audition.
Thank you also to my partner @nicklovalvo for helping me at 11pm after a long shift at work to get this self tape in ASAP.
Till the next one Y'all!
A Word from the Director of "Ahora va ver tráfico":
Keep on going with your silly dream...
I continue to be fueled by my passion for art-making, my desire to collaborate with the people who inspire me, and the need to leave someone, somewhere out there feeling seen and heard through the stories I write.
This three and a half minute short film offers a tiny window into the lives of two sisters who must learn to lean on each other while their mother reaches her final moments in life.
The sisterly bond that exists onscreen was just as present behind the scenes. I am thankful for my friendships with Miranda and Brandy, the latter of whom has been by my side for over a decade. This film exists, in part, because of their love and support for me and each other.
This is the second film I've produced and written, and the first I've directed. At 13 years old I imagined myself an actress...but to her I now say, dream bigger. ✨️

I've never participated in #selftapemay before, and I'm already late, haha. I also forgot to add my heart in the video, so I'm sticking it in post.
This is all. I think next year I'll do a proper Self-tape May. I got a bit busy with work and actual auditions.
This is a shortened version of a monologue spoken by the main character Carlo from At the Wedding by Bryna Turner. It's the very first scene in the play that really establishes who Carlo is and where she's at mentally at that point in time. I found the play a few years ago at my job and fell in love with it. I haven't worked on it in like a year and a half, and I wanted to see what it felt like now that I am a little older and a little different.
It's not perfect, but it never is. It's just an exploration of a moment in a character's journey, and some moments resonate more than others. I originally did it as this butch expressive, regretful lesbian, but I took a softer, more serious, and bitter approach this time. I don't know if it'd work for the Carlo we see later in the show, but for a stand-alone, I actually really liked this take.
Additionally, I did this monologue as if it were meant for the screen since that was the reality of my moment.
So here, I share. I love this work.
Thank you, @audreyhelpsactorspodcast , for starting this 🙏
