Mutual aid fundraiser 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐒 takes over the Misc Rooftop this Saturday arvo, a daytime event with live music, DJs, stalls and workshops from 2pm until late - “rooted in sound, stillness, and reflection”.
Super cute event with a huge lineup of activities! To name a few... check out the flower stall and workshops from XFLOS, DJ sets from CaucasianOpportunities and Superhotbarbie, live Turkish classical vocalist Onur Kurt with an ensemble, and dumplings by Hannah and Zac.
Sliding scale tickets with no one turned away for lack of funds. All proceeds from food, stalls, and donations are going directly to mutual aid networks supporting First Nations communities and families in Gaza.
We love seeing the Rooftop utilised by this and for such a vital cause <3

SPIT @spittttt is a naarm based electro acoustic trio, who create sound experiments through coded synthesis and improvisation.
Formed by @isablmae (she/her), @brandonbart (they/he), and @cam_tonkin (he/him), their setup is based off drums that trigger analogue synths with voltage signals, that allows them to explore the reciprocal relationships between players, machines, and systems of control.
spit is inspired by the glitchy drum machines of early IDM and drive of the club. Their work moves between stillness and rupture, meditation to harsh noise, moving between inward and outward expressions of connection.
STASIS marks their debut live set - the first iteration of a shared practice long in the making.
