Humbled (and still in tears 🥹) to learn that we won the Grand Prize for the region of Europe! 🏆At yesterday’s @holcim_foundation event at @labiennale (Venice Biennale of Architecture) recognizing 16 winning projects from out of 887 global submissions, our project, Art-Tek Tulltorja, won the Grand Prize for the region of Europe. Our team is led by architects @segal_rafi @bramku @oud.architects @orgpermod + myself (@marisa_jahn ) as a collaborating artist. ✨ 🧱Located in a former brick factory and disinvested neighborhood, Art-Tek Tulltorja is a dynamic, climate-forward district where 21st-century creatives and entrepreneurs converge — a transformation from bricks to bytes. We share this honor on behalf of our many teammates and supporters in Kosovo — including newly elected Mayor @perparimrama and first lady @kristale — who have been championing this project to transform a brownfield in the middle of the country’s capital, Prishtina, into a vibrant art and technology district the size of NYC’s Times Square. It was an honor to hear @kjetil_thorsen , Chair of the European jury and founding partner of @snohetta , share his appreciation that our project — ambitious, sustainable, and always embracing culture at its center — encourages other small countries and post-conflict regions to lead boldly. The LINA Forum in Pristina took place at the National Library of Kosovo. This allowed us to experience Andrija Mutnjaković's masterpiece from 1971–1982 by inhabiting it for a short time. And, of course, we explored it in detail, including the roof with its characteristic acrylic domes, which define it together with the aluminum lace that surrounds it. Undoubtedly one of the most original public buildings in Yugoslavia, it is still the subject of lively discussions.

I would like to thank everyone who joined us at this year's LINA Forum in Pristina: our member organisations, this year's LINA Fellows and our many friends, whose ideas, discussions and energy shaped these days. Special thanks go to our hosts, the Kosovo Architecture Foundation, and to Bekim and Rona, who organised everything carefully and welcomed us warmly. During our time together, we learned about many relevant projects, exchanged views, explored the many facets of the Kosovan capital and established new connections in a relaxed and open setting. We are now looking forward to the year ahead and the meetings and collaborations that will emerge from this forum to steer architecture towards more informed, regenerative and responsible practices. Art-Tek Tulltorja in Pristina, Kosovo transforms the city’s former brick factory into a dynamic hub for art, technology and community. This render illustrates how retrofitted factory buildings combined with several new structures integrate into their urban context. A new urban park cascades into a series of pedestrian streets and public plazas expanding Pristina network of active public spaces. Our model invokes the scale of “Art-Tek Tulltorja,” a (real life) architecture, urbanism, and public art project transforming a former brick factory in Prishtina, Kosovo into an art and technology district.  @withregram • Climate Work: Un/Worlding the Planet May 9 - Nov 23 2025   Curated by: Nicholas de Monchaux @de_monchaux , Ana Miljacki @anamiljacki , Calvin Zhong @calzhone This exhibition presents many worlds of research, transported from the workshops and laboratories that complement and challenge a conversation on planetary computation — an infrastructure of which MIT is an instrumental part, and, as here, an observer, user, and critic. The unfinished nature of the works deliberately contrasts the polish of the Biennale as a whole; not conclusions or solutions but instead samples of research in the making, at best they offer a series of methods for knowing and addressing the climate crisis. Some may point to solutions. Some may contradict one another. The sound that bounces through the room of Palazzo Diedo’s second floor, is not explanatory, but it is documentary, evocative, and, in its own way, generative. So happy that @perparimrama_ (Mayor of Prishtina, Kosovo) and first lady @kristale were able to attend the opening reception to see our architectural model of “Art-Tek Tulltorja” in @MITArchitecture ’s exhibition at Palazzo Diedo, @berggrueninst ’s venue at @labiennale . Our architectural model conveys Art-Tek Tulltorja’s scale and vision: to transform a former brick factory in the heart of Kosovo into a climate-forward, art and technology district.  Swipe to see the video of what the site currently looks like: it’s a former brownfield the size of NYC’s Times Square. Our project revitalizes this site into a pedestrianized district and urban park, integrating sustainable development, landscape design, and heritage preservation. The project combines new buildings with retrofitted structures, providing art production spaces, presentation venues (theaters, galleries), hospitality amenities (museum-hotel, eateries, craft shops), and educational and social services. Art-Tek Tulltorja’s goal is to catalyze the economic and cultural regeneration of next gen creatives and entrepreneurs in Kosovo and beyond.
