You’ve probably heard us talk about the 5 S’s once or twice. It’s heavily ingrained in us and the mental health topics that we share and the stories of struggle and stoke we promote. Here they are laid out and explained a little more. Each of these S’s represents a way in which you can better your day, your mental health, and help yourself know that you matter! Sun: getting outside and feeling the sun and vitamin D helping your body release endorphins Sweat: moving your body, exercising, creating a little pain or toil to get some dopamine and serotonin. Sleep: We all need rest. Sleep provides an essential aspect to our holistic mental health that we for go at times, but it is a powerful tool in positive mental health. Serve: Connecting with humans and the people you love. It can be very literally serving people, or it can be serving yourself some well deserved love by spending time with the people that matter to you! STOKE : Doing the things you love. Do the activities and things that make life worth living. Do your stoke! Have you gotten all 5 today? Each of these S’s promotes positive mental health and is a vital part of building the best you! You matter! #struggleandstoke #mentalhealthinutah #selfcareisntselfish

What are the rituals in your life? Do they involve taking care of yourself physically and mentally? What are the things you do every day to take care of yourself?

No one is going to invest in you more than you will! Your mental health is just as important as physical and spiritual health. We workout, we eat good food, and we spend time with those we love. Each of these things feeds our mental health! Don’t forget to take care of your mind.

A one-of-a-kind build for a one-of-a-kind guy. Tom’s ritual like a lot of us is the bike. This build was a physical embodiment and ode to that ritual of positive mental health coping!

We built a Custom Road bike with @envecomposites through their Custom Road program. It was an amazing experience and process. In the video, Tom tells his mental health story and the role that cycling has played in his life and goes over the importance of a physical embodiment of your dedication to your mental health. We want to give a massive thank you to @jbond008 , as well as Joaquin Herrera and the team at ENVE that made this build possible. Click the link in our BIO to watch the video!

@danny.van puts it very well saying. It is a paradox of caring. You want so bad to achieve certain goals and yet you also have an immense love for things and relationships that don’t have a medal or time associated with them. Understanding where to strike that balance in level of importance and how much space occupied in your life is a hard one. But, it is also the best way forward for pursuing the things that matter most, providing you with great purpose!

Balance doesn’t exist. A classic @tommystackroom quote. But if it did it would look like what @mitt_nieder is describing. Helping yourself stay balanced between work, personal life, relationships and your pursuit of achievement is incredibly difficult. But, it is also the only way to live if you are going after things you want to achieve while also not blowing up your life. What are the rituals you use to stay balanced and disciplined?

Even at the highest points and most competitive levels of cycling you can still only control what you can control. Enjoying moments you have worked so hard for are incredibly important apart from final results. @rogerdalearnell brings some much needed perspective to what it is like working so hard for a goal and finding fulfillment in the small moments surrounding the effort.
