🚨Tonight at 6pm!🚨
How far do you have to go to be taken seriously?
Turns out you have to go incredibly far…
Dangerously far even!
Tonight we discuss that mentality when “Hardcore” meets “Hiphop“
The Brassneck Podcast tonight at 6pm
With the man who lived California Schemin’
Brains Mcloud🎤
🚨Episode 11🚨
Cards on the table…I love winding folk up
I love seeing how far I can push it
How long I can keep it going for…WHAT A RRRRUSH!!
My next guest however took it to another level and he did it to prove a very serious point…
Don’t ever humiliate a Scot and his expect them to shake your hand and thank you for the opportunity
An unbelievable story of how rejection fuelled a series of events so wild that it would go on to inspire documentaries, books and most recently a film directed by James McAvoy
If you’ve seen California Schemin’ then you NEED to watch this!
This is The Brassneck Podcast
I’m Jack Jester and
“Would the REAL Brains McLoud please stand up?” 🎤

Who is my biggest hero? The unsung hero of California Schemin’… My sister @michellebain39
When I was broken from the trauma of Motherwell, she let me crash on her floor in Dundee where the SNB story began. When SNB went to London we crashed on her floor and she let us live and eat free of charge.
When SNB was over and I was down, she picked me up. When I overdosed, she found me, she dragged me into the car and rushed me to hospital.
There is no Silibil N’ Brains, there’s no California Schemin’, there is no Gavin Bain without Michelle. From South Africa to Dundee to London, she always looked out for me and protected me. I owe her everything. The word Love wouldn’t quite be enough to describe how much I care about her.
“A guardian angel, a hero, a best friend she’s all the above.”
Tonight 7pm, Gavin Bain will be talking about 'California Schemin' a movie based on his life with Sillibil & Brains where two dundee lads pretended to be american in order to get a record deal, appear on MTV and tour with D12 . The film is out at cinemas nationwide this week and is directed by James MacAvoy.
We will be live from 7pm (Wed) on You Call That Radio's youtube channel
It's officially podcast season 🙌
Oor wee California Schemin’ movie ranked in the top 10 films on its opening weekend. Considering it was going up against blockbusters like Project Hail Mary, the Super Mario movie and a Zendaya film… that’s pretty incredible.
If you’ve seen it and rate it, or planning to see it, then add this to your story, share and spread the word 🙏
Back at @dcadundee this evening for a second viewing of @californiascheminfilm .
And all the better to be watching it again at my favourite cinema in #dundee!
