A therapy session displaced in deep time: 83 million years back, between a dinosaur and a volcano. The volcano functions not as metaphor but as interlocutor—pressure, surface, eruption. The dinosaur returns accompanied by a secondary voice: Lisan Al Gaib, “the tongue of the unseen”.
A situation built from unstable roles, where speech, geology and memory briefly align before dissolving again.

Exciting news! Haevan Lee’s Battleground, first shown at Bradwolff Projects in 2024, opens at Museum Arnhem on 11 October 2025. Through geometric forms and abstract sculptures, Haevan maps the psychological landscapes of war and borders, inviting reflection and dialogue.
Her work features in Forbidden Territories, a landmark exhibition celebrating 100 years of Surrealism, where artists use landscapes to explore political unrest, gender identity, social change, and our relationship with nature.
Alongside icons like Max Ernst, Leonora Carrington, Jean Arp, Dora Maar, and René Magritte, the show highlights contemporary and underrepresented voices — including Haevan Lee, Wael Shawky, Emma Talbot, María Berrío, Marion Adnams, Lee Miller, and Meret Oppenheim — with over 50 artists in total.

Images circulate continuously. They repeat, accumulate and are quickly recognised. What appears is almost immediately absorbed into existing ways of seeing.
Conditions of Presence begins where that process falters.
Across sculpture, sound, textile, installation and drawing, the works resist fixed interpretation. Meaning shifts through fragments, interruptions, surfaces and spatial relations. What emerges never fully settles into a stable image or narrative. dm us for more info!

Al-Cobra (2026) is by Hamza Badran, interdisciplinary artist based in Basel and artist-in-residence at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam.
These collages belong to an ongoing project tracing the growing presence of Muay Thai among Palestinian youth. Built from cut-out photographs taken at the 2024 IFMA Muaythai World Championship, the work follows the artist’s younger brother, Ameer Amli — known as “The Palestine Cobra” — through preparation, fight, and recovery.

On Sunday 17 May, 16:00–18:00, we open Conditions of Presence at Bradwolff Projects — an exhibition where images resist immediate recognition, lingering instead as something elusive and unresolved.
In the work of Abdo Zin Eldin, the boundaries between sculpture, film, sound and performance continuously shift. His practice moves between the spiritual, the rural and the urban — tracing worlds, voices and forms of presence on the verge of disappearance.
His sculptures feel like remnants of ritual or architectural fragments of memory: fragile, charged and animate. Materials carry traces of time, the body and history. What emerges remains suspended between fiction and document, between the living and the absent.
Conditions of Presence brings together works that resist fixed interpretation. Through sculpture, sound, textile, video, installation and drawing, meaning unfolds through fragments, interruptions and resonances.
Featuring works by Atousa Bandeh, Hamza Badran, Golrokh Nafisi, Bahar Noorizadeh, Reyhan Lál, Saman Mahdavi, Sam Samiee and Abdo Zin Eldin.

Dit is mijn nieuwste werk die ik nog net afkreeg voor mijn solotentoonstelling Beelden in Bradwolff Projects. Een dierbare.
Morgen, zaterdag 25 april is het de laatste dag dat de tentoonstelling te zien zal zijn.
Ik ben zo trots. De weg er naartoe, de samen werking met Christine van den Bergh van @bradwolffprojects , de hartverwarmende openingsspeech van @hesteralberdingkthijm (na te lezen op eerdere post) en gesprekken en reacties van bezoekers.
Het is voor mij een eer als een toeschouwer onder woorden brengt wat het werk met hem of haar doet, wat er wordt gezien en gevoeld. Een bezoeker zei dat het kijken naar mijn werk is als, zoals zij zich voorstelde, hoe een archeoloog een vondst doet: je zoekt naar herkenningspunten, het lijkt op iets en het is misschien gedeelte van iets veel groters, je weet dat je iets waardevols in handen hebt, maar je weet nog niet precies wat. Dat vond ik zo mooi omschreven. Dat zoeken van toeschouwers vind ik tof om te zien en het voorzichtig in gesprek gaan als ik iets in iemands ogen lijk te lezen om meer houvast te krijgen. Waar kijk ik naar?
Al mijn werken zijn hoogstpersoonlijk, zeker weten, ze komen uit mijn tenen, langs mijn hart, uit mijn handen. Net zoals de laatste die je hier ziet. Maar dat is mijn verhaal. En niet in woorden uit te drukken.

Throwback Saturday: In 2019 Coralie Vogelaar presented Arranging, Moving, Rotating, Packing at Bradwolff Projects — where sculpture, data and the body briefly form a single system.
With dancers, sculptural forms are set into motion — poses shifting from one to another, as if carried by an underlying logic rather than intention. Movement, image and algorithm briefly coincide, without settling into a single reading.

Sophie Järvinen Postma – BEELDEN Bradwolff Projects, Amsterdam Oost
At Bradwolff Projects, Sophie Järvinen Postma presents new and earlier works as a constellation—an arrangement in which the works shift one another in direction and intensity.
Working with ink and pastel, she draws forms that seem to move without mechanism, to carry weight without mass. The image is not fixed, but comes into being in the act of looking.
More recently, her practice has expanded into steel and clay: hard and soft, upright and malleable. The line becomes tangible here—almost skin—and the surface retains touch.
Images do not settle into a whole, but remain in motion, between material and perception.
Must see! The exhibition is on view until 25 April. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 13–17 hrs. The artist will be present on Saturdays!

Gisterenavond vulde Bradwolff Projects zich met mensen, aandacht en het werk van Sophie Järvinen Postma, in haar tentoonstelling Beelden.
Haar werken vormen een constellatie: lijnen die ademen, vormen die bewegen, materialen die elkaar ontmoeten — hard en zacht, staal en klei, inkt en pastel. Je merkt hoe het kijken verandert terwijl je door de ruimte beweegt, hoe vormen zich ontvouwen en je blik langzaam wordt meegenomen.
@hesteralberdingkthijm vatte het prachtig samen: “Sophies werk vraagt aandacht, geduld en werkelijk waarnemen, en blijft nazinderen lang nadat je de zaal verlaat.” Het is een kunst die je uitnodigt te vertragen, stil te staan en jezelf helemaal in het moment te laten.
Een groot en oprecht dank aan Sophie voor haar indringende, gevoelige werk dat de ruimte liet ademen, aan Hester voor haar inspirerende, persoonlijke en scherpzinnige woorden, en aan iedereen die deze avond zo warm en levendig maakte. Samen gaven jullie de opening een hart en een ritme dat lang blijft nazinderen.
De tentoonstelling is te zien tot en met 18 april bij Bradwolff Projects in Amsterdam Oost. Neem de tijd, laat het werk je blik vasthouden, en ervaar hoe het zich langzaam voor je ontvouwt.
