A little glimpse into our upcoming Introduction to Heritage Straw Craft with Penny Maltby with artist @pennymaltbymaker Straw skills have been practiced for hundreds of years in farming and folk crafts around the world. 🌎 Straw work and Corn Dolly making are both Red Listed Endangered Crafts after falling out of mainstream practice due to the mechanisation of crop harvesting. Today, there has been a resurgence in interest as people appreciate the pleasure of working with a natural and sustainable material and the mindful aspect of working with straw. This workshop is now sold out, thank you for the wonderful response! 🌾 🎬 @producedby.ryan

🌷👩‍🎨🐈We had such a lovely morning yesterday at our Making of a Story workshop with artists Sarah Hunt @sarah_makemyway and Deb Fielding @withnarrative We're busy making plans for our storytelling event in the summer as part of the @bradwellwindmillproject , and our wonderful participants helped us put together missing elements of the story we plan to share. This hands-on exploratory workshop started with the plotting of the story 'The Farmer and the Boggart' before moving on to design the setting for our next story to take place using drawing, collage and model making. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming details for The Farmer and the Boggart happening at Bradwell Windmill on Monday 10 August! #FieldtoFolklore 🌾 The Didukh is a traditional Ukrainian wheat sheaf, symbolising harvest, family, and ancestors. It is a way to express gratitude for the land and harvest. What other harvest traditions can you think of? 🌿 We want to collect stories, recipes, folklore and rituals around wheat, flour and bread, from the communities that currently live around Bradwell Windmill. 👉Go to our website to find out more! ✨A special thank you to Viktoriya Shtanko from @ukraine.appeal for sharing this lovely photo of Didukh from last Christmas. #BradwellWindmill #Folklore #Harvest #Heritage #StoriesOfTheLand
