Yo! My most recent labor of love [the non-tiny-little-human-yet-to-be-born kind] hit the stands today and Iâm stoked AF to be able to share it. The design and installation of this Mediterranean traditional in Ansley Park happened right smack in the middle of the supply chain crisis of 2022, plus it was the first time Drew, Sonchia and I had all worked together, and somehow we managed to weather the storm and create something fresh and unique honoring both the architecture and the vernacular while also pushing the envelope with color, scale, texture, pattern and silhouette. Well, conquering my fear of open water swimming went great, but experiencing seasickness for the first time [for three straight hours before a 13-hour Sunday night flight home] was NOT something I had on my bingo cardâfor 2026 or, like, everâbut at least now I can say Iâve snorkeled under a rainbow and barfed at Jurassic Park? đ¤ˇđťââď¸đ˘đ¤ŽđŚđ¤żđââď¸đ
If the sets of I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched were mixed with the vibe of the Threeâs Company apartment, that would be this kitchenâharvest gold and olive green appliance color palette, astronaut in residence, sunken lounge, wall-to-wall mustard carpet and all. Motherâs Day really got me thinking about how my momâs early-to-mid-1980s aesthetic influencedâand continues to influenceâmy own interiors; I canât quite articulate how; best I can do is describe it as a Threeâs Company meets Family Ties meets Golden Girls meets American Psycho kinda way. Anyways, happy Motherâs Day to my own mom and all the other moms out there trying their best to keep it all balanced and/or together. You are appreciated muchly.
