With everything more important in our world, a reminder of significance among the aimless despair; you are special. We brave this journey together, surviving on the trust of the cosmos and each other while a few betray the rest and try to bring oblivion closer; aiming for us to feel powerless, our effect insignificant, like nothing. But you are special, you are significant, the things you do matter. This spaceship called earth is going nowhere faster than we can fathom, and we need not rush to get there.

These “agents” need to be held accountable for their crimes. Preemptively using the Nuremberg defense should be an indication of their guilt. I cannot fathom the lawmakers who see what is happening and allow it to continue to the people they serve, or the peacemongers who advocate for reformation over abolition and accountability. They have no compassion for anyone other than themselves. They take our money and point it back at us and tell us to stop resisting. And when we are on our knees they will shoot us in the back.

This act is not about government efficiency or spending, it is an attempt to crumble public media and public news, creating instead a media landscape controlled entirely by the interests of shareholders. These cuts will hurt small stations and towns the most. PBS, NPR and the greater corporation for public broadcasting is essential. The PBS logo drawn by Herb Lubalin is nicknamed the Everyman, was meant to represent the public; all of us. I took a step to imagine what the rest of the alphabet would look like using the same geometry and style. Queer as in Pink, a new type family coming soon. I’ve long been inspired by ACT UP’s work during the AIDS crisis, formed in anger and neglect forcing people to see us dying, to hear us. The pink triangle, once an identifying symbol used for oppression, now reclaimed as a symbol of community and resistance, perfectly encapsulates the ongoing fight for the rights and lives of not only queer people, but all oppressed. In my work I explore this visibility, trying to create type and art that is unmistakably queer and rooted in resistance. Queer as in Pink uses a symbology and visual language reminiscent of ACT UP’s “Silence=Death” campaign, expanding to create a family that is unified by context and not exclusively by form. The individual styles evocative of the queer community; diverse and beautiful and angry and harsh and loud and tender. It is important to acknowledge Palestine’s fight for liberation as integral to our Queer as well as our collective liberation. It is not hard to find the interconnectedness of our resistance throughout history and today. Liberation is and always will be intersectional. Explore the styles of Kiddlie! Kiddlie has 3 stylistic sets (crossbar I and J, Swoop Shoulder, and, Squircle) letting you shift from organic painterly strokes to industrial grade curves. I especially enjoy the combination Swoop Shoulder, and Squircle for the Q. These sets come from the range of painted signs referenced in the 5 years of visual research. The diversity was just too beautiful to stick to one style so why not give YOU the choice of how the font looks. Version 0.1 also comes equipped with 6 weights in the regular width, and 1 weight in a condensed concept giving it a fair amount of versatility for the first version. New type in the Closet! Meet Kiddlie 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦 With all projects in the closet, the character set and features aren’t entirely fleshed out. Kiddlie features 6 weights in the regular width and a proof of concept for the bold of the condensed. A-Z upper and lowercase, numbers, punctuation and quotes, and a few stylistic alternates. Pretty good for only one payment of $19.99. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 This release also falls on the anniversary of the inception of Boyish Type; an idea I had in an incredibly sleep deprived state while on the cusp of a new identity, becoming the birth for not only this foundry, but also the birth of a new self.
