@partyinthepaddock was amazing again this year and thanks to Dunies, Baddies and Ruby for having me on for their shows! The whole weekend was such a great reminder that festivals provide such unique opportunities to catch up with other bands/crew and to watch so many of them put on amazing shows! Love to everyone I saw and sorry I didn’t get the phone out more often to have more of you in the video! Thanks in particular to all of the Festival Production and BOH crew - it was such a pleasure to work with you all :) So much respect to @jesse.higgs for putting on so many great Parties in the Paddock and thanks to @rullamusicofficial for welcoming us all back to the beautiful land 🤍

If this song made you cry, you’re not alone. I cried when @boundysound played the rough back straight from computer even without headphones on! We recorded a song about home, in a very home way. Song that feels like home. People singing that feel like home. Audio that makes you feel home. Dogs, tea and kids like home. One circle. One take. Two binaural mics. Binaural is a fancy word to say 2 mics placed like humans ears to capture sound like you’d naturally actually hear it. So it’s special because it was engineered by Boundy the Visionary to bring you into the song with us. So when you cried? That was the medicine of all the things working. 🌀 Thank you for feeling it 🎧 Watch with headphones (link in bio) 💚 Share with someone who needs the reminder: home is waiting. #singingourwayhome #binaural #boundythesoundie

Dreamteam🫶🏽🥹 This just took me straight back! BTS of our recent project with @mimalland and partners @warddeken @bawinanga_rangers for 12 days in Stone Country Arnhem Land. Here, 70+ cultural custodians came together to completely re-write the Mibbarr songline (previously only available to men in ceremony) making it publicly accessible for the first time in history. This project was conceived and led by a group of prominent senior Bininj men and their families and loudly celebrates the cultural innovation of First Nations peoples. In this case, connecting entire communities back to ancient stories, re-singing the deep knowledge of country back into people’s lives. This new Songline will be passed on through a new ceremony for future custodians to maintain connection to old stories, caring for and protecting the country, singing to the ancestors. Working with First Nations creatives on First Nations projects is where it’s at, maintaining sovereignty of stories in First Nations storytelling. Working with @victor.rostron70 (project lead) @tararostronwood (language) @leo_rostronx01 (language) @moogiedown (cinematography) and @jeaniegovan (photography) - as always - was incredibly powerful. This team are the dream. And to the whole crew for bringing above and beyond love and care! @boundysound @atsmithstreet @eleanoryacopetti !!! Big gratitude to all! 📷 image by @jeaniegovan #bininjpeople #alwayswaswayswillbe #aboriginalstorytelling #songlines #sovereigntywasneverceded #indigenousculture #nothingaboutuswithoutus #indigenousstories #arnhemland #stonecountry #bininjkunwok #mibbarrdreaming

“A songline is born” 2 years ago, we engaged a team to spend time with our membership and local people discussing what their self-identified cultural preservation proirities were. From those discussions, the Mibbarr Songline Project was concieved. “wayini wam nameke ngadjare yidurndiwemen yawurrinj ngungke wurduhwurdurd ngdjare ngamirndenan kure nane darrme The songline. I want that, return, your young boys and kids. I want to see a group at this spot. kure kunborrk darrme kure nadjamun darrme ngarrku nawu ngarrwayini At the dancing spot. At the sacred place. Ours, that we’ll sing about. en kawayini ngarriwayini en kunborrk ngarrimarnbun own en ngarridjare durndeng wudurd kurrmehkurrmeng kure koltja ngarrbinnan And it will sing. We’ll sing and we’ll make our own dance. And we want return. And the kids will all be put into the culture we show them.” Jack Nawilil We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of this landmark innovative project and emergence of a new songline in the central western Arnhem Land region. This remarkable outcome is testimony to the integrity in which our teams worked alongside cultural custodians of the story. A legacy project that will reverberate for generations to come. This project also showcases the work of local First Nations creatives @jeaniegovan and @moogiedown - go follow them 👍🏾 Led by Bunungku man Victor Rostron @victorrostron Filmed by Darwin locals Cian McCue @moogiedown and Sam Harriss Photographed by Darwin local Jeanie Govan @jeaniegovan James Boundy @boundysound Project delivered by @sunpeoplecreative Thank you to our partners @karrkadkanjdjitrust

First @wildfire_manwurrk_band shows outside of the NT done at the beautiful @nannupmusicfestival in WA ✅ Hugely proud of the boys and the way they represented themselves and their culture! Thanks everyone involved with the Festival but in particular @phaedrawatts for not only booking the band but for making them so welcome and supported while still running the entire festival with such joy and grace 🤍 I am still so humbled by the friends that helped the boys when they needed it so thanks to @tomcd @rubyfieldsm8 and @greg_jard for the guitars, @lastdinosaurs for the @nautcases to fly them in and @ainetyrrellmusic for running the case down from Brisbane. Thanks to @wildmarmalade for the offer of a didgeridoo loan that we ended up not needing when @didgeridoobreath kindly gifted the boys a didgeribone and clapsticks 🙏🏼 Thanks to @kangarooswithmachineguns for the strings and tuner and for having @leo_rostronx01 join you for a song and we really appreciate all of the kind words and support from the other bands and crew who also provided such great sound and music for the whole weekend! Sending love and gratitude to all of the other legends that have contributed and been a part of the journey so far and rest assured the Wildfire has only just begun to burn 🔥 Last and in-no-sense-of-the-word least, I am in awe of @sun.people.creative and the sheer tenacity with which she won’t allow the myriad of structural, logistic and cultural barriers that make it so hard for remote First Nations people to bring their art and culture to the world stop the boys sharing their music and message - it’s an inspiration to watch and an honour to be a part of ✊🏼 Victorian leg up next - more info soon! Yo Kamak! 🔥🤘🏼

Been a crazy end to the year but finally getting some time to look back at all of the cool stuff that made up the craziness 😂 The Like A Version with @dunerats @rubyfieldsm8 Jacko from @beddyrays Kel from @tottyrulez Anna from @teenjesusandthejeanteasers and the Brewster brothers from @theangelsbandofficial was a vibe - but particularly wanted to shout out the behind-the-scenes crew that made it the success that it was: @woopistolero for pulling the whole thing together, @david_herington for the advancing and pedal board reconstructions, @shotgunpasito for teching and @wales.greg for the awesome recording/mix. But the tech and vibe queen on the day was @freeradicals - total boss 🤘🏼 The cover has been going down a storm live with loads of extra guests along the way and it’s not too late to give it a vote in the #hottest100 if you haven’t voted yet ✌🏼 Stoked to work with you all 😎
