The exhibition ‘Looking In From Outside’ by Thabiso Phepeng , presents a reunion of his new and early works from around 2018 ‑ 2025: His large scale paintings made in 2018 to canvases and works on paper made between 2022/25 feature rapid, energetic mark‑making. He returns to large‑scale painting with mixed‑media paintings with his recent work featuring a recurring street urchin he calls “Bida Boy” and newer works on resin – signalling a new direction that involves pouring crystal‑clear epoxy resin over the artwork by mixing two components resulting in a chemical reaction that causes the liquid resin to gradually solidify imbuing the work with a glass‑like, high‑sheen finish. With the latter works he focuses on gestural broad planes of color – and the tension of representational and geometrical gives his work a singular character. 🗓 05.12.2025 – 20.12.2025 🎨Vernissage: 05.12.2025 | 18.00 Sonic Intervention: DJ Joe Bless (FOMO art space ) 13.12.2025 | 18.00 📍 Botaki Factory Albisriederplatz 8 8003 Zürich . . . . . . . . . . . . . .#Botakifactory #visualartist #art #fineart #zürich #zürichart Plants at botaki factory courtesy: @oxygenatwork

Hi everyone 🌿 You’re warmly invited to the upcoming exhibition at Botaki Factory: *WHEN FORM SHIFTS: NEW SHAPES EMERGE* 📷 Photography Exhibition by Patrick Planter Patrick Planter was born in Jamaica, where he grew up in a society that faced socio‑economic and social upheavals. Amidst all the challenges , he grew up surrounded by a rich culture but also the vibrancy of its people, which shaped his artistic trajectory and identity. In his seminal essay,Stuart Hall, a Jamaican‑British Marxist sociologist grapples with with the identities of Caribbean identity arguing that it is not a fixed, essentialized entity but rather a dynamic “production” that is “never complete, always in process, and always constituted within, not outside, presentation.” The exhibition ‘When Form Shifts: New Shapes Emerge’ features both familiar and never seen photographs including new images from his ongoing Shade Series. He currently lives in Zurich where he continues his practice as a photographer and is a member of the Botaki Art Collective. 🗓 11.09.2025 – 21.09.2025 Vernissage: Thursday, 11.09.2025 at 18:00 📍 Botaki Factory, Albisriederplatz 8, 8003 Zürich . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #Botakifactory #photographer #photography #photographicart #zürich #zürichart #jamaica #jamaicanphotographer #jamaicanart Plants at botaki factory courtesy : @oxygenatwork
