Are there Black people in Boston? A week ago, we answered that question — boldly, beautifully, and without saying a word. . . The 5th Annual BWB Family Reunion was the answer. 💥 This is what it looks like when we gather. When we come home to each other. When we create a world of our own —A space rooted in Joy, Power, and Possibility: 💛 Joy —in every smile, every two-step, every laugh that echoed into the sky 💪🏾 Power — in our presence, our culture, and the legacy we’re building 🌱 Possibility — in every new connection, every generation represented, and in the vision we carry forward For one unforgettable day, we lived inside that world. Today is officially Boston While Black Day in the @cityofboston ! Since its founding in 2020 by @sheena_collier , @bostonwhileblack has become a powerful citywide organization—supporting thousands of Black residents’ personal and professional growth. It embodies the best of Boston: bringing people across neighborhoods together to build a community where people feel safe, seen and connected. As Boston While Black celebrates their 5th anniversary, we’re proud to recognize their hard work and dedication towards enhancing the vibrancy of our communities, creating inclusive spaces that foster a sense of belonging for all, and move us one step closer to making Boston a home for everyone. Boston While Black has transformed the narrative of Boston and redefined what it means to work, live, and belong in our city for so many of our residents. When we started imagining what “Yes, There Are Black People in Boston” event experience should feel like, we kept coming back to one idea: It should feel like home. 🖤 Not just in the traditional sense, but in the way a space feels when you instantly settle in, conversations happen naturally, and the energy in the room feels familiar before you even know everybody’s name. And the moment we walked into @bludot in the Seaport, we knew we found the space. On May 28, we’re transforming the Blu Dot showroom into the BWB House — an immersive gathering space designed around conversation, connection, culture, and community. Not a transactional networking event. Not a stand-around-and-scroll kind of vibe. ✨ You come for the experience, and stay for the people ✨ One conversation turns into three ✨ Familiar faces reconnect, while new connections form The kind of energy that reminds you what intentional community can feel like. As the year winds down, we’ve been reflecting on some of the final moments we shared together. . . One of them was Black Love Stories Live, a night created to explore how love and connection show up here in Boston. ✨🖤 The evening was never just about dating or romance. It was a reminder that love does not live in isolation. It lives in community, in friendship, and in spaces where people can show up honestly and be held with care. That night made clear how deeply our relationships, both romantic and platonic, shape how we experience a city.
