Our Reading for Liberation girls are diving into The Poet X by @acevedowrites this season. Through Xiomara’s story, the girls are engaging in powerful conversations about identity, finding your voice, and the courage it takes to speak your truth. We’re exploring what it means to navigate family expectations, first love, and the journey of self-discovery, all while creating a sacred space to sit with hard questions, honor our truths, and grow alongside each other.
Every year, we have the beautiful opportunity to partner with The CommunityGroup @thecommunitygroup190 to host a Be Well Retreat for their girls. It is always such a meaningful time for the girls to come together in sisterhood, to slow down and rest, and to nurture the skills they need to care for themselves and truly be well.
Deeply grateful to our incredible partners Marlene Boyette @marleneboyette and Ritmo Canela Academy of Performing Arts @ritmocanela.apa for pouring into our girls during this retreat. Throughout yoga, meditation, and dance, you affirmed them. This work thrives because of partnerships like yours.

Last week we hosted our Love Your Magic Summer Camp, themed “We Are the Garden.” Despite the heat advisory, our girls were nurtured in joy, community, and the radical act of loving themselves fully.
This year’s theme invited Black and Brown girls to see themselves as sacred, deserving of care, and ever-growing. We centered joy, self-love, and ancestral wisdom because where love grows, they bloom.
Deep gratitude to everyone who made Summer Camp possible, including our caregiver volunteers, camp counselors, and funders such as the Shlomo Fund, United Way of Massachusetts Bay, Trefler Foundation, Agnes M. Lindsey Trust, and the Greater Lawrence Summer Fund. Your care and commitment help create spaces where Black and Brown girls can truly bloom.
