Due to visa processing issues, @fulcicult are unable to perform on the upcoming Decibel Magazine Tour, as well as Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly 2026 on May 3. Fulci will return next year as part of the 2027 Decibel Tour. But this year, Texas heavy metal masters Spirit Adrift have stepped up to fill the void, joining Montréal death metal legends Cryptopsy, Bay Area bruisers Necrot and D.C. deathgrinders Blood Monolith on Decibel’s 13th trek across North America beginning April 30! “We were sorry to hear that our friends in Fulci are unable to make it to the States for the Decibel Tour,” says Spirit Adrift founder and frontman Nate Garrett. “But we’re honored to step in on short notice and make this happen. Since we announced the end of Spirit Adrift, a lot of y’all have been clamoring for a farewell tour, so here you go. Decibel magazine has always been so supportive of Spirit Adrift, so this was an offer we simply could not refuse. “We’re psyched to be the black sheep of the tour, old-school doom/heavy metal smack in the middle of a powerhouse lineup of incredible death metal bands,” he continues “We’ll be playing songs from our new (and final) album ‘Infinite Illumination,’ as well as highlights of the back catalog. Hopefully we’ll see some of you long time Spirit Adrift fans out there, and maybe we can even win over the more extreme metal fans. Rather than have a ton of painful individual conversations, I’m putting this here. (and I’ll talk to y’all that knew him soon) My grandfather Julian Rudd Garrett, better known as Papa and/or Rudd, has passed on to the next plane. His death process was as peaceful as any of us could hope for. Surrounded by his family, making people laugh even when he was halfway in the spirit realm, listening to music, wisecracking. He and I butted heads as much as is inevitable for a father / son dynamic. Even moreso considering we are both hard headed and hot blooded. But he got way more chill as he got older, and I guess I did too. He went through unimaginable challenges his whole life, never wavered, never abandoned his people when lesser men would have. He managed to make everything good before he died. Against all odds. He was one of the toughest and funniest dudes that ever lived. That fact was lost on me at certain times in my life, but I finally came to understand him deeply and vice versa. If I ever pushed you to be better, roasted you to your core (with love), was too raw and honest with you, or said some smart ass shit that didn’t hit until way later… blame him. A good man.

Spirit Adrift is eternal. The final night, March 20th, 2026. Thank you.

It is my wife Nicole Louise Garrett’s birthday today. Most important and favoritest person in my life by far. Been together 15 years, married for 10 this October. Both been thru shit together that would disintegrate most folks into dust. I love and admire and respect her more every day.
