RUN CLUB FEATURE We were lucky enough to have Heather Anderson (@hip_bean ) join us a few weeks back at our run group, so we wanted to give her a shoutout! A Run Calgary Ambassador, she spoke to our group about the importance of visibility in the running community! "Running has been part of my life for over 30 years; starting as a sprinter and growing into distance running, but more importantly, growing into who I am through the sport. Living with chronic illness has changed the way I show up. It’s taught me that strength isn’t just about pushing harder it’s about listening, adapting, and choosing to keep going in a way that honors your body. Not every run looks the same, and that’s okay. I care deeply about creating space in running for people who’ve never felt like they belonged here. Especially women and folks in the queer community; you deserve to take up space, to be seen, and to move your body without judgment. Whether I’m studying to become a running coach, showing up as an ambassador, or just getting out the door on a hard day, I’m here for the real version of running. The messy, meaningful, not-always-pretty kind. Community over competition. Always."
