Yesterday, we finished a run of The Hare and The Tortoise at @puppetbarge 😱 not just a run, an era came to an end..🐰 This new version of the show premiered in May 2025, and over the past 10 months, I performed it 107 times. 🎉 🥂 Guess who won the race every time..? 🐢 Thanks for the comraderie and great times we had with other puppeteers in the cast Emily Dyble, @edenharbud , @edieedmundson , Soledad Zarate (of @stringtheatre fame). Hopeful Monsters ist ein Stück visuelles Tabletop-Theater. Von einfachen Organismen bis hin zu riesigen Bestien ist dies eine Geschichte der Evolution, die ausschliesslich mit den Händen erzählt wird. Hopeful Monsters kombiniert visuelles Theater, einen originellen Soundtrack und Puppenspiel und ist eine spielerische Erkundung der Tatsache, dass alle Lebewesen aus den gleichen Grundbausteinen bestehen. Ständig in Bewegung und im Wandel begriffen, bewegen sich menschliche Hände auf ungewöhnliche Weise und erschaffen unerwartete Kreaturen auf unserer Reise durch Wasser, Erde und Luft. Hopeful Monsters is a piece of visual tabletop theater. From simple organisms to giant beasts, this is a story of evolution told entirely with the hands. Combining visual theater, an original soundtrack, and puppetry, Hopeful Monsters is a playful exploration of the fact that all living things are made up of the same basic building blocks. Constantly in motion and undergoing change, human hands move in unusual ways, creating unexpected creatures on our journey through water, earth, and air. It is a story of survival and struggle, of connection and transformation. A reminder of the playfulness of life. After all, we humans are animals too.
