I'm in Tomi, in the eastern part of Nagano Prefecture, northwest of Tokyo. It's a place with perfect weather and very friendly people. It's 5 am here, and the performances will begin around noon. I'm very excited to see these artists. The festival will start at a temple, which will be incredible. I'm so grateful to be able to have this experience. I traveled 14 hours from Houston, Texas, where I was able to see my friend Miriam, whom I love and admire tremendously, so I spent two days before boarding my flight to Japan. It's been a two-day, 14-hour journey—quite an odyssey to get here.
I'm a little tired, but it's worth it. Many thanks to Tadashi Watanabe for his great effort and management, as well as to the entire festival team for their kind welcome and accommodations, thank u for invite me 🍀 I also want to thank the Faculty of Music at UANL for helping make this possible, . Tomorrow is my presentation at Tomi, I'm excited, I'll upload more content about it soon and I'll see you soon in Monterrey to tell you all about it.
The cherry blossoms fall here and the birds sing at dawn.
