My first album ARCADE, Out Now. We did it! My Harvest on this Harvest Moon 🌕 is this music. It’s yours to enjoy, I kept it to myself for way too long. it feels epic and equally scary to put it out, perhaps because it is the first time where I fully allowed myself to be vulnerable and let that guide the creative process. I am very proud of this work. The Street Fighter characters accompanied me & gave me archetypes to explore and uncover things that were happening in my life at the time. Identity, love, heartbreaks, rage for the state of world, return to my roots. Arcade, a place to go, play, have fun & lose yourself in world creation, Arcade like the Arches (portici) of Bologna where I grew up. Despite the slightly whaaaambulance mood of the album, making the album & visuals was SO M U C H FUN. There was no electricity in the whole island apart from the tent & we had the most magical time and Kate and I became circus masters! Making Sad Trippy Music is actually Hilarious. 🖖🌈 Watch me singing Opera channelling Luciano Pavarotti at the end. This post is to say that without @woolymamothsounds ARCADE would probably mostly sound like a teenage boi experimenting with 8 bit music 🤣. I love working with Jay cause he always has the best crazy fun ideas - you might end up playing a guitar riff under a table with a steel pot on your head wired to a synth that will convert your resonance into a doom reverse ethereal puffy sound connected to an amp blasting into a spiral case hall for lush reverb - & it always sounds EPIC! 10+ years of playing and making music together means that we have a shared language around it & trust each other in making decision to elevate the music. Somehow, I know that if I tell Jay to make a kick sound more like a sourdough loaf of bread he’ll exactly know what I mean.
