I love exploring and developing the relationship between my character Wayne my on screen daughter, the amazing @amberharrison.x as Aimee in @gwedofficial We done some work together on back stories in pre production for Series 1. little moments pay off more because the prep was there. Never just say your lines, always have a reason. Create a history for your characters. Amber is Such a fantastic actor with a massively bright future! hard to believe #gwed was her first Tv job! We have a right giggle also 😂 Can’t wait to see what’s in store next for Aimee and Wayne 👀 #Gwed #itv

With over 20 years experience in the Industry, I can help you kickstart your career or get you out of that slump. Check out the website (currently under construction-bear with me) and I look forward to working with you. I know the struggles of starting out, and the obstacles being a working class actor can bring. Don’t let this industry keep you in a box…
You are enough. 🙏 Let me help you find your True potential 🎬
Hiya, I’m @johnmcgrellis a working class fella from Toxteth, Liverpool.
Being a bit Overweight and bald,My journey hasn’t been easy.
I finally landed my first TV job in 2011, playing a paramedic in BBC's "GOOD COP" I was buzzing!
Only to sit down and watch it, nibbles, drinks, family...they cut me! 😂
4 years and 100s of NO's later, I was genuinely debating packing it all in and retraining as a firefighter.
One day i had a lightbulb moment- I began to realise, that owning and embracing WHO YOU ARE is the key to success. Don't try be anyone else. or feel you have to be a certain way. YOU ARE ENOUGH.
I stopped mentally apologising for who I was, and saw it as my STRENGTH. This was the game changer for me.
After auditioning for the amazing casting director Amy Hubbard for a small role in BBC's "The Moorside" I was told I was unsuccessful.
But, Amy remembered me...and I was brought back in the following year for a new NDA project.
After many auditions, recalls and trips to London (It was the pre self tape era) After a Two month wait, I finally got the news I had landed a role in 3 episodes ITV's Little Boy Blue, Playing real life Detective DI Martin Leahy.
I got the chance to work with Liverpool Heavyweights such as Stephen Graham and Stephen Walters and learnt so Much! What an amazing experience, I still thank them both for what I learnt to this day. This job opened many doors.
The moral of this story is that sometimes a NO is not always a No, Just a NOT YET.
I currently (at time of writing) star as Aimee's Dad Wayne in series 1 & 2 of G'wed for ITV (S3 coming soon) and As Errol in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen for Netflix (S2 coming soon)
As my day job, I'm lucky enough to coach Actors on a 121 basis online.
The truth is...No BS...I'm an honest working "Jobbing Actor" from Liverpool.
I'm not a star. Nor do I want to be.
I just love acting, Always have, always will.
I too, still face rejection, times of unemployment and uncertainty. So I REALLY get it!
I get such a buzz when i see Actors get that Light bulb moment, Book a Job, Get an agent or just begin to shine again.
You are enough!
Hopefully get to work with you soon!
John x

The biggest problem I am seeing currently in my Role as An Acting Coach-
Actors playing things ‘safe’ far too often.
Maybe you Want to try something different but afraid what Casting directors will think?
Sound like you? If so Read on…
Look, Don’t get me wrong-I’m not a fan of doing things just to stand out or “making a bold choice” whatever that means 😂
However, let’s say you have a clear artistic reason for a solid choice you want to make? In relation to the scene or character? What then? Would you go for it? Or worry about what you “Think casting want” ?? BE HONEST…?
I would say a vast majority of actors I see are not reaching their full potential in castings/Self Tapes for one reason.
Fear.
Fear of failure.
Fear of getting it ‘wrong’
Fear of ‘blacklisting’ (big myth)
Instead, settling for safe and occasionally Vanilla performances that are ten a Penny, because in reality most Actors are doing the same thing as each other in regards to castings.
Casting is a Big old machine. You will never be able to please everyone. Contrasting advice and opinions are EVERYWHERE.
My advice Is simple. To be the ARTIST you are and stop trying to please everyone else.
Be true to yourself. If it works for casting…it works. Sometimes it may, sometimes not. But you will always be safe in the knowledge that you were true to yourself artistic self.
Of course, be respectful of our casting director friends guidelines, but also be true to your own Artistic beliefs.
Don’t wait for permission to be brave. It probably will never come. It has to come from within 🙏❤️ #acting #actingcoach #selftape #casting
Look, lets be 100% honest.
We’ve all been there. It Feels like everyone else is progressing, whilst we can barely move one step forward.
Jealousy and resentment may kick in and begin to cloud our positivity and judgment. The problem is, no good can come of such emotions. Look after your mental health, be kind to yourself- whilst being happy for other’s victories.
Imagine that feeling of Joy they have currently and focus on achieving your own goals. With hard work and persistence good things may come your way too. Walk your own path.❤️ #actors #actorsofinstagram #actingcoach
It’s SELFTAPE SATURDAY here at BOOK IT HQ.
(Aka…my house 😂)
Ready for a day of Actors wanting to level up their #selftapes ❤️🙏
The Industry is certainly picking up again! Don’t fall into the ‘Its quiet’ narrative we can feed ourselves. Lots of things are being made, all the time.
Keep pushing, being proactive and most importantly, BE READY when the opportunities arise.🎥🎬 #Actors #Auditions #actingcoach - Link in Bio

Yes, I coach Actors. BUT I am still an auditioning Actor. Very few straight offers here 😂😂😂I understand the frustrations of self taping- Set up, Framing, eye lines, learning lots of dialogue with very little prep time. Nobody to read in!? Etc!
I’ve Just finished a Self tape audition myself, with a crazy turnaround time. After years of selftaping and booking via them- I have a great system in place which covers all circumstances. It is SO important that you get your #selftape game strong in this modern industry. And that doesn’t have to mean fancy equipment and light…Content is KING. Give yourself the best chance possible, and book a 121 for your next selftape- In person, or Online- I can direct you, read in if needed, and give help and advice to ensure you are at your best👌 #Actors #screenacting
