I made another poster for @celtics and @vistaprint :)
This one I stayed as far away from the computer as I could. And experimented with colored pencils. Which I’ve.. never used lol.
I don’t know how to make traditional art that great so this was a fun challenge and I made a 12 min video on YouTube.

This past weekend, this year’s Artist in Residency, Kirk Wallace, hosted an Open Studio at The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum 🎨✍️
The open studio drew from Kirk’s unique personal style and focused around “playing with shapes” 👏

this one is only 8 minutes long! Jeff my friend and editor said its his favorite.. I’m not sure I agree!

Earlier this year @vistaprint reached out about photographing artist, Kirk Wallace (@bonehaus ) for a piece about his artist residency with the @celtics , and how he uses vista print in his day to day business. Like most of my shoots these days they mentioned I’d be shooting along side video. So for one really fun day I got to work alongside @jonowibbs (who was awesome to work with) and @dirtthegrip (who let’s face it is always a gift).
Kirk was just the most fun to work with, beyond the shot list we had he was willing to try any idea that anyone threw out there. Between the vista print team and all the other creative minds on set it was one of the most collaborative shoots I’ve been able to be a part of. It had all the feelings of an old school editorial shoot.

More on this soon but I decided to try out paper collage for this one and am super happy with the process.

@bonehaus , Boston Celtics resident artist, brought together Womp’s liquid 3D tools and his own hand-drawn style to create this incredible multimedia piece for Celtics vs. Warriors 🏀
We love seeing artists blend their own process with Womp to create something totally unique. Incredible work, Kirk!
Fifth poster for 🏀 @celtics and @vistaprint the other night against the Warriors.
For this one, I wanted to try to explore 3D a bit more.
I had the idea to make this ball out of physical clay or play doh but wow it’s hard.
So I tried @womp3d to rough together this ball globe for the coast to coast theme.
Exported from womp into blender to apply some playdoh and clay textures / shaders / materials and lighting.
Then beat it up a bunch in photoshop and hit my edits and flaws with some clouds :)
Tried to take this one on less as an illustration and more of a graphic design poster.
Continuing to feel less intimidated to jump into new ideas with this residency.
