This past Monday, we had our 6th Annual Convening in NYC! Members came together to share in the successes and challenges of being women+ leaders in theatre, to lend support and share visions for the future. This superb day of community would not be possible without @helengurleybrownfoundation support of the BOLD Circle and helping to foster our connections to each other and the marvelous work we all do! 🥳💃 @alliancetheatre @goodmantheatre @jungletheater @mccartertheatre @northernstagevt @tet_houston @woollymammothtc @wptheater

We are so excited for SIXPACK by Katie Ka Vang @katie_ka_vang to premiere at @jungletheater this weekend!!! 🏐💃 A proud BOLD Ventures project and formerly titled FAST FORWARD MOTIONS, SIXPACK is directed by Sara Pillatzki-Warzeha and officially OPENS TOMORROW!! Pam and Jou used to be best friends. Promising star athletes on their volleyball team, they both had big dreams of moving away from Minnesota and playing in college. Jumping back and forth between their teenage years and adulthood, we see how the tensions of family, culture, and ambition shape these young women and their friendship. With a backdrop of the competitive world of Hmong volleyball, SIXPACK explores if a friendship can withstand the harms, betrayals, and messiness that happen when you feel your life pulling away from the future you envisioned. If you’re in the Twin Cities/Minneapolis area, make sure to grab a ticket to the show!!🎟

We would like to share that MARIA MANUELA GOYANES will conclude her award-winning tenure as Artistic Director after seven years of inspired leadership at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co., and will be taking helm at LCT3 @lctheater starting this upcoming 2025-26 season!! Goyanes has been named Artistic Director of LCT3 and will also take on the role of Producer. Under her remarkable stewardship of Woolly Mammoth, Goyanes has been a catalyst for change in American theater. She advocated for dynamic new theater artists, created a touring program for Woolly that expanded artistic reach, fostered civic provocation and hyper-local connections of the theater regionally, among the many other achievements, awards, and accolades. LCT3, a part of Lincoln Center Theater and located in the Claire Tow Theater, is a programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new playwrights, directors and designers. Through fully staged productions and affordable tickets, LCT3 is bringing a new generation of artists and audiences to LCT. "The Claire Tow Theater, perched atop Lincoln Center Theater, is a jewel box - a brave space for vulnerability and courage in close proximity,” said Maria Goyanes. “I remember when it opened, and it's hard to believe it's now just two years shy of its 15th anniversary! I am deeply humbled to build upon the foundation of magnificent new work at LCT3, stewarded by two brilliant minds - Evan Cabnet and, before him, Paige Evans. I know Lear thinks as expansively about theater as I do, and I'm thrilled to join such an illustrious team to help bring her remarkable vision to life while also creating my own for LCT3." We are so grateful to have worked with Maria Goyanes as a BOLD colleague and been inspired by her leadership, and we look forward to her impactful tenure at LCT3, continuing to propel change and innovation for the American Theater. Thank you to @thehgbfoundation for BOLD’s visionary pipeline for women+ leaders.

We are SO THRILLED to share that BOLD Associate Alison Ruth is making her directorial at @jungletheater with THE EFFECT 💊by Lucy Prebble, running NOW thru Mar.30!! You do NOT want to miss out if you’re in the Minneapolis area!!!🥳🎊💃🏻 When Connie and Tristan sign up for a clinical trial to test a new antidepressant, they fall for each other—hearts racing, knees buckling—hard. But are their feelings real or nothing more than a dopamine-fueled side effect? Sealed off from the outside world, their illicit romance throws the trial off course, posing unexpected dilemmas for the supervising doctors; and as the dosage and emotional stakes increase, THE EFFECT keeps audiences guessing, asking which is more powerful—the head or the heart? Alison Ruth is a director, dramaturg, and producer. She has been a proud member of the Jungle staff since 2019 and now serves as the Associate Director of Artistic Programming and Development, where she runs the Greenhouse Play Reading Series. She holds an MFA in Dramaturgy from University of Iowa and a BA in English from NYU. She has worked with The Grumble Theater, Playwrights’ Center, Shakespearean Youth Theatre, Delaware Shakespeare Festival, Wilma Theater, California Shakespeare Theater (RIP) and Des Moines Metro Opera. Love to Danny! ungle Theater is where community, creativity, and curiosity converge. They offer bold performances that speak to the heart and mind, inviting audiences to explore new perspectives and connect through engaging and relevant storytelling: jungletheater.org
