The best communicators do not just perform.
ㅤ
They connect.
ㅤ
You make it personal. You let the room know, “I have been where you are.” That is when they lean in.
ㅤ
Then you do what most people are afraid to do.
ㅤ
You challenge them.
ㅤ
Because people want to be called up. They want to be pulled into something bigger than where they are today.
ㅤ
That is leadership.
ㅤ
Not speaking at them.
ㅤ
Leading them.
ㅤ
Are you connecting, or just talking?
Last week at Personal Story Power, Drew Lawrence brought something this room needed.
ㅤ
Song.
ㅤ
Not just to sound better, but to help you take up space. To feel your own voice. To stop shrinking from the power already sitting inside your body.
ㅤ
That is what great coaches do.
ㅤ
They give you access to a part of yourself you forgot was there.
ㅤ
Thank you, Drew, for helping this room use their voice, their presence, and their power. @drewlawrencesongs
Everyone talks about discipline.
ㅤ
I care more about loyalty.
ㅤ
Loyalty to the dream you said you wanted. Loyalty on the days nobody is clapping. Loyalty when nothing feels like it is working.
ㅤ
That is where discipline comes from.
ㅤ
That is where confidence comes from.
ㅤ
Stop chasing the byproducts.
ㅤ
Stay loyal to the vision.
ㅤ
What are you staying loyal to this week?
Dawn and I are taking a breath after three full days of Personal Story Power.
ㅤ
There is nothing like watching you all step into the room, tell the truth, train your story, and leave carrying yourself differently than when you arrived.
ㅤ
That is why we do this work.
ㅤ
To everyone who came to La Jolla, thank you for playing full out.
ㅤ
I hope you gave yourself a restful Mother’s Day weekend.
ㅤ
You earned the exhale.
I often speak of Spartan Moms.
I had a Spartan Mom and I married one.

ㅤ
From Steven Pressfield’s The Warrior Ethos:
ㅤ
Spartan king Leonidas chose the 300 warriors to march off with him and die defending the pass at Thermopylae.
ㅤ
He did not pick his 300 champions for their strength or their bravery or their fighting prowess.
He picked them instead, he says, for the courage of their women. He chose these specific warriors for the strength of their wives and mothers to bear up under their loss.
ㅤ
The West survived, then in no small measure because of her women. The Lioness hunts. The alpha female defends the wolf pack.
ㅤ
Thanks Dawn for raising our 3 champions in the spirit of a Spartan Mom

Day 2 | Personal Story Power Recap
ㅤ
We started by waking up our voices, then dove into the heart of it: how to turn your story into a business-building tool.
ㅤ
Dawn gathered her dream team of experts to share everything from maximizing your social presence and prioritizing your "warm leads," to building the resilience to keep going when the world says "no"—and finding the right partners to grow your audience.
ㅤ
Then we did something unexpected to help own our stores: We rehearsed like toddlers. We performed like the world's worst speakers.
ㅤ
Day 3, and the work continues. Voices, stories, and the dreams worth fighting for.

About last night at Personal Story Power… we shifted from theater to dinner party mode at our VIP reception.
ㅤ
Together we broke bread and celebrated the new stories and experiences taking shape in the room. Our VIP attendees got the opportunity to connect with me, Dawn, and our dear friend Roger Love, the world's #1 vocal coach.
ㅤ
We talked about family, dreams, and the powerful decisions each of them is stepping into as a result of this event.
ㅤ
Nights like this are everything. For me, for Dawn, and for every dream in that room—cheers.
Thrilled to welcome the world's greatest vocal coach, Roger Love, to the Personal Story Power stage for Day 2!
ㅤ
Your voice is your greatest storytelling tool, but it doesn't come with a manual. Most people spend years perfecting what they say, and almost no time on how they say it. Roger was here to help us change that. He's coached everyone from Tony Robbins to Reese Witherspoon (to her Oscar-winning performance in Walk the Line), and today he's showed us exactly what's possible when you unlock the full power of your voice.
ㅤ
Here's the truth: people don't just hear your words — they feel your voice. And when you learn to use it intentionally, everything shifts.
When you cultivate your best voice, you:
ㅤ
Control how people perceive you the moment you open your mouth
Move people emotionally, so your story doesn't just land, it sticks
Influence the outcome of every communication
ㅤ
With Roger, we worked through the core building blocks of voice, and how to use them to "make recipes with different emotions": Pitch | Pace | Tone | Melody | Volume
ㅤ
Your story deserves to be heard, not just understood. This session was a game-changer.
ㅤ
Watching from home and want the November event details and super early bird pricing? Comment EVENT and I’ll send it to you.
Day 2 starts long before I step on stage.
ㅤ
The whole team shows up early, we walk through every detail from the run of show, to the lights, sound and video.
ㅤ
That is the standard at Personal Story Power. Every one that steps within these 4 walls, shows up and brings their A-game every day.
ㅤ
Day 2 is here. Its time to learn how to use our body and the instrument that it is when you are sharing your story.
Day 1 Recap
On Day 1 at Personal Story Power we went deep into our Defining Moment — the moments that cracked us open, that changed the direction of everything, that made us who we are today. Every single person in this room has one. And they started telling it out loud for the first time.
Because a story that stays in your head has no power. It has to move into your body. Into your voice, your feet, the way you stand in front of a room. That's when it stops being a memory and starts becoming something other people can feel.
To everyone watching from home — think about your lowest moment. The one you don't talk about enough. The one that tested you in ways you didn't think you could survive. That moment didn't break you. It built you. And there is more power sitting inside that story than you've ever given it credit for.
More to come Day 2 from La Jolla...
Today we found out who's in the room.
ㅤ
Not just who showed up — but who came ready to work. There's a difference between attending and playing, and by the end of Day 1, that line is very clear.
ㅤ
We've got financial advisors, medical practitioners, coaches, consultants, insurance agents — every kind of professional you can imagine, all sitting in the same room with the same hunger. They came to train. They came to do the real work. These are the people who aren't satisfied just being good at what they do — they want to be the best in the world at it, and they know that takes showing up and putting in the reps.
ㅤ
That's what a Player looks like. And this room is full of them.
