Meet Our Amazing Jury Pt. 1
Andy Schiaffino @bodynegativela is a composer and sound artist known for their analog-driven approach to ambient music and film scoring. A longtime collaborator of the LA-based film collective ONYX Films, Schiaffino has composed original scores for independent short films such as Noxious (2021) and Ingestion (2024). Their work has also been featured in major productions, with tracks from their 2020 album Fragments appearing in HBO’s Search Party, NBC’s Good Girls, and a Vice Essentials web series.
Beyond composition, Schiaffino has worked across nearly every corner of the music industry—including roles at record labels, artist management, sync licensing, venues, and promotions, and additionally, serves as the talent buyer for Heavy Light Festival, the sibling festival to SDUFF.
Schiaffino’s deep-rooted connection to experimental sound extends into radio and curation. They began their journey hosting multiple shows on their college radio station, KKSM, later expanding to guest appearances on influential platforms like NTS and Reform Radio. Their newest radio show, Cloud Music, airs monthly on the esteemed online independent radio station Dublab.

2/14 – echoplex, los angeles, ca
to help support those impacted by the los angeles wildfires, i will be donating 100% of proceeds from my 'covers' cassette tapes directly to those in need via @calfund - there will also be a donation jar and a qr code at the merch table if you would prefer to donate that way.
