Behind the scenes of building @bodegaxtales
Every film starts with ideas, notes, and a lot of figuring things out.
Weāre working to bring Chapter One to life with the support of our fiscal sponsor UrbanTheater Company (501c3) and an amazing community of backers.
Independent stories only happen when people step in to help build them.

Today is the last day.
Weāre $3,500 away from green-lighting @bodegaxtales
This project started as a simple idea:
an anthology series set in one neighborhood bodega, a place everyone passes through, where different stories collide and something unsettling hides in plain sight.
But this isnāt just a concept.
Weāre building it with real people, real communities, and real stories.
The same cultures that raised me.
The same places where love, danger, folklore, science fiction, and survival all live side by side.
This isnāt a studio project.
I made this trailer using AI so that I can hire real people to make a real project!
THIS is independent.
Itās personal.
And it only exists if we finish this push today.
Weāre also proud to have the support of an incredible fiscal sponsor @urbantheater Company, a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) that believes in independent storytelling and community-driven art.
If youāve been watching quietly, this is the moment.
Help us cross the finish line!

Bodega X - Anthology series.
Each episode tells a self-contained story set in the same neighborhood, all connected by one late-night corner store, a place where people pass through every day, where cultures meet, and where ordinary moments quietly brush against the unsettling and surreal.
Like Tales from the Crypt or Black Mirror, each episode reveals a hidden layer of the city. But unlike those worlds, ours remains rooted in one physical space: a neighborhood bodega that sits quietly at the center of everything.
It is not just a backdrop, it is the crossroad.
Secrets move through it. People disappear around it. Beneath its fluorescent lights, something extraordinary is always unfolding.
Each story stands alone. But together, they reveal a pattern; a city shaped by hidden threats and forces operating in plain sight.
This short film is our proof of concept. The first chapter in a world built around unseen danger and the cost of looking too closely.
