Meet Victoria Aguilar, our spring intern in the Education Department!
“I’m so grateful for this opportunity and I’ll miss helping with Education Mornings, planning crafts and activities, working on family programs, and most of all, being surrounded by such inspiring art.
The sculpture behind me is Wendy Wischer’s Angels and Ancestors V, and it’s my favorite piece in our collection. Made from tens of thousands of Swarovski crystals, it depicts Florida mangrove trees — the trees that literally hold together our shoreline. Wischer’s work speaks to the relationship between nature and the urban world, and it’s a call to connect people with our environment.
I chose this piece because I resonate with the artist’s message of protecting the beauty of our Earth and the importance of human connection. I also helped plan the Creation Station craft where families made their own mini version of this sculpture. That’s what I’m holding!
Even though I’m sad to leave, I carry everything I’ve learned and all the talented people I’ve met with me. The museum is part of my routine now, and I’ll be back often!”
Thank you, Victoria! We can’t wait to see where you go next.

🎨 Displayed at the Schaefer Family Campus, Temple Beth El is proud to present “The Omer Counter” by Tobi Kahn, a celebrated contemporary artist whose work explores spirituality and ritual. This exhibit is the first to be featured as part of an exciting new partnership between Temple Beth El’s Friends of Music and the Arts and the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
Counting the Omer is the sacred Jewish practice of marking each of the 49 days between Passover and Shavuot, transforming time into a journey of reflection and intentionality. “The Omer Counter” is on display in the synagogue accompanied by interpretive materials offering visitors a contemplative encounter with a work that has been exhibited in leading institutions, including in The Jewish Museum in New York. We invite our members to visit our Schaefer Family Campus during this time to reflect and count the steps of your Omer journey.
