Mornings at #mysteryonmack
I’ve always been a morning person, but since moving into the warehouse I’ve really fallen in love with creating time for me and it involves watching the sunrise. Standing completely still, barefoot in the grass, taking in the quiet moment of waking up with nature and with Detroit.
I figured why not share it with you all and maybe inspire someone to take 10 minutes for themselves at 5:30 am haha. That fresh air might just be the thing you were missing… who knows? Try it and maybe thank me later.
Ready for Phase 2 anyone?
When we first bought the warehouse, iconically and ironically titled #MysteryOnMack, we truly had no idea where this renovation would take us. And honestly, if you’re from Detroit and know the east side, then you know the name really isn’t much of a mystery at all.
Failure was never really the question. Finishing it though? Yeah… that part felt a little less certain.
The greatest thing about being designers and artists is having vision, grit, and the ability to see potential where most people don’t. The worst part? We have a million ideas, a million projects, and somehow never enough time.
But somehow, piece by piece, we turned this 4,000 sq ft Art Deco warehouse into our home.
Phase 1, aka the first floor, is mostly done. Minus a few lingering projects because let’s be honest… are creative people ever truly finished with their spaces?
But now it’s time for Phase 2.
The second floor.
And if I’m being real… I’m VERY excited about this next chapter.
Timelines? Ha. Let’s just say we’re probably entering our 2026 into 2027 era with this one… and honestly? I’ll take it.
Which space are you most excited to see the transformation first!?!#
You are a pioneer.
And if I’m being real… sometimes I forget just how hard I’ve worked to get here.
But a conversation I had today stopped me in my tracks. It reminded me of my greatest strength and pushed me to share a little more of that on my substack Bo Knows..What again? Link in bio 🫶🏾
Thank you @tracy_reese You added fuel to my fire in the best way
Presentation day as a designer really brings out all the feelings....excitement with a touch of nerves (but in a good way obviouslyyyyy) It’s the moment we finally get to share what we’ve been creating behind the scenes, tailored specifically for our clients.
This one felt especially meaningful. Not just because of the potential of the space, but because of the people. Longtime clients of ours who truly get the vibe, and it’s so exciting to move beyond furniture and step into designing a full space for them… a real full-circle moment, and I’m sooooo into it.
Excited to share more of the design and behind the scenes as we get closer to kicking off construction real real soon!!!
