Weeks posts
We are officially a week away folks. We are so excited to share with you all the wide array of bike messenger films we have received over the past month. But we cant quite yet, so instead here is a little teaser of what's to come!! The Bike Messenger Film Festival (BMFF) is a global, DIY film festival that celebrates the stories, lives, and culture of bike messengers. The BMFF exists to spotlight a wide range of messenger-related films — including documentary, fiction, experimental, and non-narrative work — created by filmmakers who are part of, or closely connected to, messenger communities around the world. The festival is non-commercial, community-led, and built around collaboration. The second annual edition will take place on October 9, 2025 both online and in person in over 9 cities.

BIKE MESSENGER FILM FESTIVAL ORGANIZERS — We’re back in the studio for Episode N°49 of The Mechanics of Joy with Ken & Sarah of the Amsterdam edition of @bmff.109 talking bikes, film & community. Ken Eby-Gomez ( @reallybigmochilaxvx )is a bike messenger, founder of @lbofietskoerier , and zine writer from California currently based in Amsterdam. His written work focuses on experiences of public space and environments, blending themes of the right to the city and cycling. In addition to mess work Ken has been a primary school educator, a program coordinator for bike safety and advocacy programs, and been known to make dozens of vegan tamales with homemade salsa. He is also a dog person, used to skateboard, and drinks too much coffee. Sarah Teixeira St-Cyr ( @sarah.ts ) is a cultural worker, community organizer, and rookie rider based in Amsterdam. Her work centers on the intersections between socially engaged art, film, and community-building, exploring how culture can foster collective expression and care. With a background in journalism and curation, she works across both grassroots and institutional contexts, developing programs that bridge artistic practice with community-driven initiatives. The Bike Messenger Film Festival ( @bmff.109 )was founded by Toronto messengers Narada and Mickael, transforming casual living-room movie nights into a decentralized global film festival. Ken and Sarah are organizing the Amsterdam edition 9 Oct @workspacesix at 19:00 to connect local scenes through film. Title : Kinesis By: Axel Camacho/ @perritosdemontana City: Mexico City Year of Production : 2023-2024 Runtime 12:17 Language : Spanish Description : Perritos de montaña presents the short documentary; KINESIS, filmed during 2023/2024 this short documentary is an emotional trip throughout the streets, where the bicycle turns into the conductive thread of friendship, work and camaraderie. In each pedal stroke it reflects the ephemeral aspects of life, it reminds us that the moments we live on two wheels, although fleeting, leave a permanent mark. Through personal stories we evoke freedom, challenges and the connection that the bikes had given to us. This is a tribute to the simple and deep of our shared experiences.
