It took me a while, but I wanted to share some images from the Roots & Pixels programme! 🙌🏻 This was such an incredible opportunity that nine of us from across Africa got to be part of. We spent two weeks attending inspiring workshops, exploring Belgium, and taking part in a 3.5-day game jam alongside Xbox Gamecamp Belgium 2026. Even though it was only two weeks, it feels like I built friendships and connections that I hope will last a lifetime. Allie brought us all together, and we had the chance to learn and create in an exciting new place (for most of us). It’s an experience I’ll never forget.

This amazing group of people pulled off such an incredible @superfriendship arcade event last weekend! I love that I get to be a part of this space were we can create weird and wonderful things together 🙌🏻 I wish I had more photos of the event, but I was too busy running around playing games 👀. So here’s one bonus picture of the cat that joined the arcade.

Slime Fight Club has been cooking for a bit now, and we’re sooo close to the finish line. A group of us have been working on this prototype for the last few weeks, and it got some great traction in our local community. Excited to release a final, updated build!

I’m incredibly proud to have graduated from the @academy_digital_arts Game & Interactive Media program with distinction, and to have been awarded Top Student for the program. It was an intense and rewarding year that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I’m so pleased I finally had the opportunity to continue learning with an institution I’ve wanted to be part of for years.

A few days ago, I had my graduate showcase at the @academy_digital_arts ✨ Not many people know that I was also a student this year, alongside everything else I had going on. I’m so grateful that I finally approached ADA after all these years. It gave me the push I needed to move to Cape Town. I’ve idolised ADA ever since a friend of mine attended years ago. I later did one of their Concept Art short courses in 2019, and now I’ve finally completed a full year of Game Development with them. My life hasn’t taken the conventional route, and I didn’t have the “typical” student experience, but I’m really glad I pushed myself to be involved regardless. Juggling being a full-time student with what felt like hundreds of other projects this year was a bit crazy… but it was the good kind of crazy. The kind that pushed me to learn and grow, and led me into some of the most incredible communities. This chapter has now come to a close, and I’m so excited for what’s next ✨ ❔ Some info on my final project: I created a 2D dungeon generator that blends procedural generation with hand-crafted elements. The primary focus was the algorithm, which generates two types of paths: a critical path and branching paths. Adjustable parameters control how these paths are generated, including the balance of challenge vs. reward rooms and each room’s challenge rating.

@playtopia_fest 2025 Recap! (1) Playtopia Volunteer! I had such a blast volunteering along side @austen_byl and @micaelaloubser ✨🙌🏻 Can’t wait to do it again next year! (2-3) Our game, Holey Moley, went to Playtopia! We feel incredibly lucky to have had our little mole game shown along side some incredible indie games. (4) A @superfriendship arcade game that I’ve been working on since April with some super cool people from the community was also shown at Playtopia this year! Shawshank Shootout is a collaborative prison break game and we got such amazing feedback from people playing it during the festival! (5) Our artist (and my husband), @2bitdream , took home the Fool King coin during the Fool King tournament at Playtopia! @lootdonkey (6) A group of us (Can, Austen, Ruby, Thomas, Sara, aka. CARTS) got the Playtopia Octopad Tetris record! 84 lines 💪 It was such fun playing this and meeting Patrick! Already looking forward to next year 💛✨
