Shot in Sydney, with memories of the Mekong - where water shaped life.
Để nhớ về một dòng sông Mekong…
Long before roads and motorbikes, the Mekong River shaped the way generations lived, moved, cooked, traded, and gathered together. Homes faced the water, boats became part of daily life, and floating markets turned the river into meeting places for entire communities.

Straight from the streets of Việt Nam to a little corner of Sydney…
We grew up on plastic stools and street food and the kind of community that never needed an invitation. But we are extending one anyway.
Four friends invite you to pull up a stool at our Vietnamese street café pop-up, for one night only. Everything we have been missing about home, recreated with a stack of red stools, snacks, drinks, and that warm, chaotic spirit that is just so distinctly Vietnamese.
Come grab a stool. Be family. Let us feed you.

If you grew up Vietnamese, you grew up on a little red plastic stool.
It traces back to “ngồi bệt”, the old habit of sitting directly on the floor or the footpath, cross-legged, squatting, completely at ease. The stool came along and the culture absorbed it without a second thought.
Stackable, cheap, infinitely moveable. A stack of them pulled apart at dawn for a bowl of phở. Passed around a crowded living room when guests arrived. Lined up in rows at school assemblies every Monday morning. No occasion too big or too small. The stool went where the people went, and the people were always gathering.
The red plastic stool is an ambassador of Vietnamese street food, of culture, of nostalgia, of collectivity. Of “cà phê bệt”, people sitting directly on the sidewalk with their coffee, talking for hours, in no hurry at all.
One glimpse of that deep, particular red and suddenly you are back on the streets of Việt Nam. Petrol fumes and charcoal smoke, motorbikes and vendors and the sound of everyone, everywhere, gathered together.
For one night, we are bringing that corner of the world here. A recreation of a Vietnamese street, with the food, the drinks, and the sense of community that lives deep in our memories. Come grab a stool, sit with us, and let us feed you 🫶

Một góc phố Việt Nam trong lòng Sydney tháng Năm này.
Một chồng ghế đỏ, thức quà vặt, cà phê và trà đá, một góc Việt Nam, được tạo nên từ bốn người con đang nhớ nhà.
The past few months have been a whirlwind, and we wanted to take a moment to reflect on one of our favourite events from last year — raising funds in support of the Uwan Typhoon relief. 🇵🇭
Being Filipinos ourselves, this event meant everything to us. Being able to give back to our motherland was truly a dream come true. We were overwhelmed by the incredible turnout and the generosity of everyone who showed up — the energy, the support - it’s something we’ll never forget. 🫶🏽
We feel so grateful to have collaborated with @tita.marrickville and the @convoyofhopeau charity organisation to bring this event to life. And a huge shoutout to @joeebananas and @triqmusic for carrying so much of the load behind the scenes — we couldn’t have done it without you. 🫂
Most importantly, thank you to the amazing Blend Theory community. Your support is what makes all of this possible.
We’ve got so much more planned for 2026, with many more events like this on the way.
Love always ❤️🔥
