Tunisian producer and composer Ratchopper (
@ratch0pper ) links with rapper Namiro (
@namir0__ ) on “Kridi Le,” a hip-hop commentary capturing the realities shaping Tunisian youth, creatives, and the working class today.
“Kridi Le,” which translates to “no credit,” is a phrase widely seen across shops and often joked about, hinting at whether merchants extend credit or not. Yet behind the scenes, those same merchants rely on “kridi” to stock their shelves - a cycle of dependency and constant deficit that keeps turning.
The song comes across as relentless, with distorted textures, layered vocals, and sharp kicks, snares, and hi-hats that never let up. The production and delivery carry the same weight as the subject matter: direct, with a subtle hint of unhinged aggression.
The release is part of S.Y.N CITY, a collaborative EP between Ratchopper and Namiro, tied to a platform built by Ratchopper’s record label, BLOC C (
@bloc.c.records ). Designed to connect artists directly with their audience, it enables them to sell music, merch, and tickets, and receive support without a middleman.
Take a first look at the song’s official music video, exclusively on Rolling Stone MENA ahead of its full release this Sunday.
