@elvis_gleeson and @fizzy_issy_ both love jazz fusions, great conversations on a night out, and a buzzing dance floor, so we’re hosting Jazz and Friends.
This is a chance to experience jazz in a social and uninhibited setting; not as background music or a seated concert, but as something rhythmic, open, communal and alive. We’re cultivating a space that feels safe to be yourself as you’re welcomed into a colorful new world for the night.
MUSIC — Our lineup features @rushhour.5 joined by @mncappo , @this.way.orkestra , @6 , and Garaújo; bringing together contemporary jazz, jazz-hop/hip-hop, afrobeat, afrofunk, ska, and minimal house fusions.
ART — We’ll have live art from @thiagodclaus_art creating an original work in response to the sights and sounds of the night. You’re free to join him! We’re supplying paint and open canvases for anyone to get inspired and immersed.
DANCE — You can expect a zero judgement environment where you’re equally free to kick back on a couch while chatting with new and old friends, or dance your heart out on Blank’s open air rooftop. Issy is a professional breakdancer and Elvis grooves like a newborn giraffe—we will both be equally enthusiastic on the dance floor.

All musicians and all skill levels are welcome. Bring an instrument, plug in, and sync up! This will also be a test launch of Mr One-Oscillator’s new Gentle Giant Sound and Lounge system. Rumour has it that a crew of graf and street artists may also be joining during the day to paint and mural our rooftop. The situation is expanding in real time - expect notice soon.

Blank Activation Lab is a series of workshops that helps creative people turn their skills into compelling arts, culture, and community initiatives. Through the program, you’ll learn how to design, plan, and promote an activation—then receive support to bring it to life.
