So happy to share that director and co-founder of Blak Wave Productions Mena Fombo will pre-record an introduction for the 30th anniversary screening of The Watermelon Woman! Catch their pre-recorded intro at Watershed on Thu 26 March 18:00 to celebrate Cheryl Dunye’s groundbreaking debut on the big screen, the first feature film directed by a Black lesbian. This screening is presented with We Are Parable, an award winning film exhibition and distribution company who provide audiences around the world to experience and respond to Black Cinema in culturally relevant, unique and memorable ways. We Are Here is We Are Parable's latest project dedicated to a consistent programme of Black cinema in four nationwide cities, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Leicester, and is supported by the BFI and National Lottery.
