Alright this is probably my last post about this night 😂✨ A little recap from my point of view because wow… what a night. Receiving the Helen Lane Founder’s Award from @moreartculture was such an incredible honor, and I’m still taking it all in. To be recognized in a room full of so many talented creatives, leaders, and changemakers was truly special. The theme was Neon Noir and if you know me, you know I LOVE a theme 😅 so I had to go a little off course with neon RED ❤️🔥 From getting dressed, to the energy in the room, to walking across that stage it was such a beautiful night I’ll never forget. Thank you to everyone who believes in me and the work I do and allowing me to do it all while being myself. Your support, encouragement, and love mean more than you know. NOW... Poof im outta here cause I got work to do! 🖤✨ Extra special thanks to @placemakingjax 🩷🩷🩷

What an honor it was to walk across the stage to receive the Helen Lane Founder’s Award presented by Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville @moreartculture on behalf of this community and its leaders. To know that this work continues to be seen, supported, and valued means more to me than I can fully express. As someone who in the beginning had no clear map for how this vision would happen but knew that it had to be done this moment feels especially meaningful. A decade later and the work continues. ✨ There is so much to say and share about last night but first I want to share a few moments that made my heart smile! These were reminders of why this work matters! This really goes to every artist who trusted me with their work, every person without ask joined my team, every person and organization who has supported this work, and to every person who will join me in some way as the work continues to grow! ❤️❤️❤️

Honored is an understatement 🥹 I’m incredibly grateful to be selected for the Helen Lane Founders Award by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville as part of the 49th Annual Arts Awards. To be recognized for work I’ve built over the past 10 years means more than I can really express. The award celebrates those whose work has made a lasting impact on Jacksonville’s arts and culture landscape and has helped shape and move the city forward through creativity. From @thepetitejax gallery & activation experiences that continue to grow and bring new people into art spaces and @blackmuralmap , an initiative dedicated to celebrating Black public art across the city to helping to define and leave behind a blueprint for Riverside Avondale as an arts centered community, this work has always been about access, belonging, and opportunity. Things change but impact remains. I can't wait to show yall what's next 😌 Thank you all again to for always supporting the work! I'm just getting started and that's on Kandice Knecole Clark ✨ Thank you to my friend and prior Helen Lane Founders Award recipient @tonismailagic of @cre8jax for making sure ya girl had a headshot 😆🫶🏾

What an honor it is for my role in this community to be bringing people together through art and experience the vibrancy of people and their energy ✨ Is @thepetitejax hard work? Yes but this is the work that really fills my soul. It has been expressed countless times over the years that the work must continue. The love has always been LOUD and it really motivates me 💚🖤 Thank you all for pouring into me as I pour into you ❤️

So honored to have shared the @cummermuseum stage with such notable and impactful voices alongside the incredibly talented artist @calidagarciarawles . Grateful that I was able to lend my voice to the conversation with people whose work, leadership, and knowledge are helping to shape our city and beyond future. Calida's work was the catalyst for this conversation and although I was introduced to her work many years ago, I remember standing in awe of the body of work that is now in the Cummer Museum in Miami at @pamm first. Never crossed my mind that I would be connected to it in the future in my own hometown. Thank you Calida for not only your talents but the story the work shares. It was truly beautiful to learn and share moments moments with you. Thank you to the Cummer for being the platform to share our voices, stories, and work! Sidenote: What a blessing it is to be the versatile being I am. I'm really her, her, and her 🔥❤️

A few extra views from Saturday’s Spring Mural Jam & a look into the exhibit opening of CHAMPLOO, which took place the same evening, also at @PHXJax . To see the full gallery, the link is in the bio (Contrary to popular belief, I am not @kandiceknecole personal photographer 😭😭 if she’d only stop dressing up, I’d leave her alone 🫠) • Support Local Artists presented CHAMPLOO, a group show featuring @VictorAliArt + @_modernslow_ + @datoffbeatninja + @jwalkertheartist Culinary creations by the legendary @napswhippin . The word Champloo (チャンプルー) is derived from the Okinawan stir-fry dish chanpurū, meaning “something mixed” or “blended together.” • Spring Mural Jam x @JaxWallProject : Over 40 artists painted large-scale murals live on 14th Street, turning the Phoenix Arts District into an open-air gallery. You found muralists, graffiti writers, and street artists creating everything from bold portraits to abstract walls. Vendors included The Block Skate Supply, Kingdom Clothing, and Wolf & Cub, and Naked Kitchen, Blacker the Coffee, and Fishwier Brewing handled the food and drinks. An Incredibly beautiful day for the art community in Jacksonville. I couldn’t be more happy / proud of everyone - from the organizers, the artists, the volunteers, to the vendors. LOVE to see days like that come to fruition! Don’t forget — only the boring get bored 🖖
