As we get our new studio room together here is a little flash back to our last studio in all its wavy roofed glory..!
We dreamed this space up with @vppr_architects and watched the amazing @sailandsonsconstructivists build it from the ground up. Always a friend of the curvaceous, we navigated blocking the listed view of next door Keeling House with a roof that curved up and out of the way just enough.
The first picture is a highlight for me - a collaboration with brilliant @sarah_balineum who reflected the roof pattern into a bespoke tile design over the kitchen units and doors.
As we built the studio in the front of the Victorian warehouse yard we lived in we sadly said goodbye when we moved house (not so sad as it has bow realised it’s true calling with fabulous artist inhabitants we love)!
For our new studio room expect bubble lighting, cow print wall to wall carpet, and creamy walls bathed in light.. almost there..! #interior #design #studio
Dreaming up interesting bespoke sofas is up there with my favourite activities. This wonderful wobbly snug built into this room drew on traditional tufted inspirations while it wound its way around a sharp corner.

The many iterations and lives of a bespoke canopy chaise… first dreamt up for our studio - now living in a bookish corner of home - this beauty pulls no punches..! We worked with brilliant @blackbarnsofas who made this in several bolted parts stitched together onsite. The funnest peice of furniture we’ve ever designed…? I think it has to be this neo- baroque chaise recently photographed by @simonuptonphotos for @houseandgardenuk ❤️ this room had so much space and light - we wanted to lean into these features and rather than over populate the room to make every item that we introduced do something completely unique and dramatic. Taking inspiration from @rachelrififi and @jamespwt ‘s brilliant art collection, we highlighted the curves from the @fayeweiwei painting in slide 2 and let the rest of the piece unfold from there like a ribbon/ scroll… we worked with brilliant @blackbarnsofas who brought this beauty to life!
The beautiful archetypal features of this room were pulled together by @undercoverarchitecture - we had a lot of fun paying homage and subverting them..! ❤️❤️

It’s not every day you get to have this much fun at work - but then @rachelrififi@jamespwt are a one of a kind couple! From a ‘beauty and the beast’ chaise to curtain pelmets with taffeta silk rosettes, this room feels drawn together with curves..!

Warm/ cozy/ bold/ unexpected- the inspiring brief we were given for this great snug!
In order to feel like the room wraps you in a patchwork blanket, we used @lamaisonpierrefrey festival linen on the walls, ceiling and curtains - resulting in a pattern effect through the room.
We worked with @blackbarnsofas to create a completely bespoke sofa that wobbles its way from wall to wall - both a nod to a baroque curved, button backed sofa, and a very comfortable unique item..!
We worked with @sonia.adams.interiors to create the curtains, which lead in from the kitchen with a fuchsia velvet backing 🔥🔥🔥🔥you can see the beautiful layout of the lower ground floor here, designed and built by @undercoverarchitecture 👌👌

I am so excited to see this joyful project in the current @houseandgardenuk !! A true collaboration with the most wonderful creative family who continually pushed us to go further!! @rachelrififi@jamespwt you guys are the bomb!
This living room was predominantly inspired by the feminine feathery shapes of the @fayeweiwei painting that sits within it. We wanted to wrap this room up in these curves, while not overpowering the feeling of light and space. We payed homage to these shapes in the curtain pelmets and the curves of the bespoke sofa/ fainting couch… the organic curves continue into the rug made bespoke with @floor_story .

Curves galore…! For clients looking for something special, we have made some exciting shapes over the years… weather inspired by leaf shapes lighting within the rooms, curvaceous artwork, or just a free form concept, they are always a lot of fun! #interior #design #bespoke
The life of a sofa…! We designed this beauty in the studio for lovely clients in New York - and what a journey it went on…. Made in the traditional fashion in the British countryside by @blackbarnsofas , it would find its way to Fith Avenue making the journey during Covid lockdown and the blocking of the Suez Canal. In order to make it up to the 24th floor, we designed it in three pieces so it would fit in the service elevator. Our collaborator in the US @sallymathewsdesign then arranged for it to be bolted and stitched together onsite by @marksandtavano . The beautiful trim was the icing on the cake, added last.
Comfortable and elegant - it doesn’t give away much of its logistical backstory… #interior #design #bespoke #sofa
