HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOMMY!! The STRONGEST warrior! I couldn't let anything stop me from publicly shouting about how much I love you today. She was a doctor & a pastor who took both jobs so very serious and helped thousands of people. A very private person who fought her battle with just those closest to her. Heaven gained quite the angel today & I cant lie that Im so happy that now you're free. My quiet storm of a mother gained her wings & in true Gbonju fashion she decided to let us celebrate her birthday, talked to us all the night after, & left in the middle of the night on mothers day to ensure we got to spend some of it with her. She left after we told her how much of a fighter she was and how proud we are.
Today is a sad day but for the woman who never complained in the TOUGHEST of storms & whose faith NEVER wavered, I'll just say Thank You God & I LOVE YOU MOMMY! The truest and most dedicated to ever do it. 🤞🏾✊🏾❤️🙏🏾

This project made a CRAZY transition from paper to screen! The actors embodied these characters and every one played their role perfectly. I learned a whole new culture & got to design a scene in Magic City & show them ATL culture! 😂😂😂 it was a TIME to say the least!

As we close out the year we couldn't end it without highlighting the Fellas of Southern Fried Rice ! Cooli, played by @sencerembrownofficial & Steve, played by @korde1ll were two characters that had many similarities but very core differences. They are both music majors with similar passions but different approaches! Cooli rocked braids & Steve rocked twists, done by @tigerhooks , & 1&2 teeth grillz installed by @luxeskin.artistry
Steve is the artsy 🎨intellectual music major who is very expressive in his style. His clothing represented his love for small brands rocking @krownmellc hat, @s3ktion8 hoodie that was cut by @nando_smoove . His style was colorful & structured, a nod to his balance of intellect & art.
Cooli is the bold bad boy Taurus who brings edge to the story! He isn't afraid to go after what he wants & test the boundaries of style. He rocked cropped flannels, a music note head band, a whole newspaper leather set by @karlkani , graphic T's by @crosscoloursla & CENSOR, baggy cargos and jeans, visible boxers & a clean cut grooming by @luxeskin.artistry .
@nando_smoove was instrumental in building these looks. Once I saw the characters I knew he would be perfect to help me execute.
