A few friends and I will be reading at the North Columbia Schoolhouse on Saturday the 25th..... Hope you can join us ""Back Then, Tomorrow" Drawing on the title of Peter Blue Cloud's book of poems, this year’s iteration of Poetic Crossings leans into the notion that what unfolds on the San Juan Ridge today is inseparable from what came before—and from what may yet come. The present is shaped by memory, by inheritance, by traces of old ways that never fully disappear. Time here is not a straight line but a cycle: what was can return through remembering, through discovery, or, at times, through complete collapse."

Tomorrow is our 10th annual Sierra Poetry Festival, an event that highlights and inspires poetry Nationally and Internationally. An example of how a small town can do wonderfully big things... Thank you to the Arts Council and all of those that help to create beauty by making this event possible. Hope to see you there! P.S. Hiroko and I will be serving an assortment of tasty items during lunch. Please join us for a listen, workshop, taste, or to say hello🌱

"Naga" A collaboration with @banjoglass , @ryanfitt , and @bishop3333 Photos by @jaredcortland There are stories across the world of white snakes — in Aboriginal Australia, Hopi, Chinese, Tibetan, Japanese, German, Mayan and Aztec traditions — deities who come to warn us of the harm born from our constant wavering: between conscious and unconscious states, between the ego’s struggle for control and meaning and the true nature of things — chance, chaos. Our senses deceive —eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind. Faulty sensors in an illusory world, a dream within a dream. May we offer a prayer of thanks for the teachers and the lessons that remind us of our divine imperfections, our foolish selves. ""Mystery" I used to resent magicians for what I believed was fooling people Until I realized illusions are a form of truth- for we are easily fooled, our senses deceive only so much can be measured Teaching us to accept chaos, divinity, chance rather than believing in control while denying magic" -Bishop Randall
