New record Big Shapes by @good.news._ is out on Friday. Vinyl is present and correct. Yesterday I injured my arms trying to carry all the preorders to the post office in one go because I am feeble. I thought I didn’t need my trolley; I did need my trolley. Still some to order from Bandcamp, after that you’ll have to brave the merch desk.

Another one from @firstprize.band is out today to complete the jangly pair! This one is Wasted on Me. Out everywhere you might look. This one reminds me quite a bit of Felt, which was a key player alongside Thin Lizzy in soundtracking the 4 years Charlie and I spent living together with Mario. Appropriately, then, a bit of twin guitar melody action à la Scott Goram and Evil Robbo snuck in there too two minutes in. A melting pot, you might say. Enjoy!

The debut album from @legclinicband drops this Friday! It’s called Sit Down for Rock and Roll. You can pre-order the vinyl now. It’s good. Here you can look at labelmate @itsadamhopper holding the lacquer/stamper/whatever it is* for the record which he cut himself, here in Sheffield. That’s his job now. We’re close to infecting the entire production process with our own! *even after nearly 10 years we still don’t understand how this works.

Well, well, well, the day has finally come. We finally have new music out in the world. Here is “Goodbye to the Day” in all its glory, a fresh slice of jangle pop for your audible perusal. Thanks to @davidcglover for recording this way back in July, and to @lismore_mastering for the mastering. A massive thanks to Ed Stables for helping shoot a video with an iPhone and finishing the edit in 24 hours start to finish. Thanks also to Lloyd at @bingorecs for all his hard work! Next week sees the release of new single ‘Goodbye to the Day’ by @firstprize.band . Hope you like jangling. It’s a good one. What a way to continue with what the critics are calling our ‘glut of new shit to talk about’. And there’s more to come after that, too. Spring is the time to look alive! Excess is always good! On March 13 (a date that will crop up again soon, because I’m going to mention it again, not just because that’s how the calendar works) there’s a gig to celebrate. At Clam.
