Picked up @jpelletier from Dead Horse and spent the next 26 miles pacing him to Sedona. Very chatty and moving well to start…then the “sleep monster” hit and we had to get a couple of dirt naps in. He has less than 90 miles to go in the epic odyssey so keep cheering him on!

Mingus Mountain aid station (mile 107) brought a lot of different dynamics to @cocodona250 as @jpelletier continues to grind it out: massages, dirt naps, lasagna and even some basketball!

TRAIL DREAMS ✨ Well. Not the result I came for but the one I deserved (dropped at Randall Aid, mile 48). Like the inversion that sat over the beautiful coastal trails of Marin, so sat the cloud of conflict and ambivalence over me all day. I should have seen it coming, as the couple of weeks leading into the race was a mix of physical and mental drain, and outright stupidity in one instance that I won’t bore you with. My one regret was that I wasn’t in the right head space to reflect the kind words that so many of you shared with me throughout the day. God, I love this community. Even when I didn’t show up as my best self, you showed so much love. For that and for you, I’m so grateful. While the good moments were few and far between, one genuinely happy moment was when I saw my friends @kim_gaylord and @tgaylord (second photo) cheering me on at Pantoll. Thank you guys for showing up, even in less than stellar conditions. Special thanks to @runboulet for allowing me to take in the stunning beauty of the sacred and beautiful Miwok trails. You have the biggest heart and the love you have for the runners and for the land is palpable. I so wish I could have given you a big finish line hug to tell you this in person. You are such a gift to this great sport of ours. @miwok100k is and will remain a gem in the sport of ultra running for years to come thanks to your stewardship and leadership. Thank you, to the incredible and encouraging volunteers. Especially to those of you who braved the harsh conditions all day. God bless you guys. To our cousins Greg and Judy for breaking bread with us last night - it’s so fun going on the pregnancy journey with you guys! And of course, to my wonderfully giving, better half in every sense of word wife @thehilaryann . You’re my true north and the reason for going as far as I did in the race. Thank you for your incredible support all day, and for carrying our little prince. I didn’t think it was possible to love you more. Yet here we are. Ok, enough schmaltz. Onto our next adventure at Cocodona!

🎈 HBD to the love of my life, and the best dang dog dad, partner, uncle, and best friend I could have ever asked for. I hate how fast time is going by, but I love how much living we are cramming into it all. When I look at some of my favorite moments from this past year, a common theme stands out to me — you live your life surrounded by people who you love fiercely and loyally, and you don’t do anything by half measures. I truly can’t imagine my life with anyone else. Cheers to you my darling, and to many more birthdays and special moments, both the big ones and the little ones, to come. I love you @billyyang 💕

The Adventure Club was born during COVID - a few friends putting a self-curated run on the calendar. Six years later, we took on an epic route through the Marin Headlands. And of course…it wouldn’t be an adventure without a proper storm rolling through. Grateful for everyone who showed up this year: Kevin, Natalie, Mark, Hilary, Gary, Jin, Wayne, Matt, Micah, Jeff, Kevin K, Ben, Chris, Jen, Spencer, Allegra, and Ted. Special shoutout to Ben for capping it all off with an incredible meal from @eatmamahuhu 🙏🏼 Already looking forward to year 7!
