PART I: COMDEye’26... What an evening! ✨ Films looped in four rooms, work spilled across the basement floor, and the building filled up with everyone who made it happen: students, faculty, families, friends. A year’s worth of projects, all in one place, all in one night. Thank you to everyone who joined us ! We couldn’t have hoped for a better way to close the year. Until next year. #comdrocks Photos: @sertan_yalcinkaya

The dual digital exhibition by @ecemdilankose and @bilkent_comd , under the leadership of @kasputnik and realized on the occasion of the #EuropeDay2026 is the combination of my two great passions and obsessions: #EU and #arts. So proud to be in the team that realized it…To me, the message given by @euinturkiye in supporting this exhibition is a strong one: “We care about creative young artists who care about our cultural and natural heritage and want to carry this heritage to the future.” These young artists do not dwell in dystopia - despite all challenges, they have the mindset, the will, the energy to make things better. This is exactly how I think EU should be in those uncertain and challenging times… So please go see the exhibition and let us all reflect how we can make the world a bit better in our daily work … and let us reflect on what we want to see in COP31! #europeanunion #may9 @eudiplomacy @culturecivic @cermodern @pinaralkan_ @vince_pacha @denizzyenal @diditut @svb1976 @selda_duzenli.cavdar

From ChatGPT-authored novels to AI-generated soundtracks, the "creative" landscape is shifting beneath our feet. But is the machine actually creating, or are we just falling for a high-tech illusion? The talk cuts through the industry hype to ask: if a computer lacks intentionality, can it ever truly be an artist?Aarthi Vadde is E. Blake Byrne Associate Professor of English at Duke University. Her books include We the Platform: How the Internet Changed Twenty-First-Century Literature (forthcoming, Columbia UP 2026) and Chimeras of Form: Modernist Internationalism beyond Europe (Columbia UP, 2016; winner of the ACLA Harry Levin Prize).
