Big things are coming at Brooklyn Independent Comics Showcase this year! 🎉
Over the next few weeks we’ll be announcing special guests, activations, and surprises almost every day leading up to the big weekend. Make sure you’re following along so you don’t miss a thing - and while you’re at it, add BICS to your calendar for April 18th & 19th.
Our show floors of incredible artists, panels, signings, and classes are all completely FREE! We can’t wait to see you there.
We still have so much more to share from this incredible weekend, but for now - THANK YOU! To all of our incredible artists, panelists, sponsors, teachers, volunteers, staff, and attendees: BICS wouldn’t happen without each and every one of you!
We can’t wait to keep sharing about all the memories we made (and of course, the comics we bought) at BICS this weekend.
And behind the scenes… we’re already excited to start gearing up for next year! 🤩
Found the big, gaping hole in my life — and it turns out it’s the Brooklyn Independent Comics Showcase (BICS), which just opened this weekend!
Stopped by to pick up my copies of Times Like These, a new compilation I’m proud to be part of (huge thanks to my pal @tonywolfness for putting it together). Ended up sticking around flipping through nonstop incredible comics and soaking in that perfectly cool, nerdy, arty atmosphere. 🎨📚
If you’re even remotely into comics or indie art, this is absolutely the spot. @bicsbrooklyn@cosmiclionproductions@artanddesignnyc
We’re excited to keep on featuring creators as the weekend continues! We’re excited to spotlight artist @chloecarsonart - who you can find at Table 329 in the Blue Room! 💙
Chloe Carson is a comic artist and painter based in Boston, MA. Her work functions as a visual diary in which she uses the humor and urgency of the contemporary cartoon to explore her daily life. Her distinctive style often features exaggerated and grotesque features, detailed linework, and emphasized lettering. Her comic and painting work may seem different at first glance, but her practice as a whole is ultimately united by a common theme of embracing the analog thinking about her mark on the planet in an increasingly digital age. Be sure to check out “Blown Away”, her new comic debuting at BICS this year! You can find her work on her etsy shop, Desert Island in Brooklyn, or at various art markets throughout Boston and New York.
Keep on coming, folks! It’s not too late to support independent creators. We’re open til 7pm tonight, for FREE! 🤩
We had SO much fun celebrating independent artists with you yesterday - who’s ready to do it all again today!?
From 11AM - 7PM, visit all 3 of our incredible show floors, attend classes, and support local art - ALL FOR FREE! 🥳
#BICS is this weekend in Brooklyn 🎉 you can find my table placement on the next slides! I’m right at the entrance of the Yellow Room when you turn right into the main Red Show Floor and walk towards the thruway by the restrooms.
I wasn’t able to do BICS last year due to a scheduling conflict with another show, and I’m so happy to be back for 2026! As always, BICS is free and open to the public, so stop by 💞

We are so excited to announce that artist Ash N. DeLeon will be tabling with us this weekend! 🥳
Ash N. DeLeon is a freelance illustrator, comic artist, and the winged creature behind SHRINEHARPY. Their work is inspired by augury, folklore, and all things with wings.
They’ll have lots of Risograph prints and zines, sticker sheets, and cyanotype goodies this year at BICS. You can find them on the Red Show Floor at Table 3!
Maps of our show floors will be available online soon and on-site at the show 📍
BICS is proud to partner with our @industrycity neighbors at @lista_studios this year! 🎨
Lista Studios is a creative space for artists in formation, where creativity is nurtured through experimentation, curiosity, and a willingness to embrace uncertainty. Lista offers a flexible, process-driven environment where artists can explore ideas and take risks with the support of peers and mentors during workshops, open studios, and community events.
Come say hello at BICS to learn about upcoming programs, turn an original artwork into a button you can proudly wear, and view original comics and illustrations from our friends at Sunset Park High School!
In addition to their presence on the Red Show Floor, Lista Studios is offering a special open studio session on Saturday, April 18th from 2-4pm. This session will provide a more relaxed setting for BICS attendees to recharge and be creative during what promises to be a very exciting weekend!
Finally, ICYMI: Lista instructor @wilbigio will be running a zine-making workshop at BICS on Sunday, April 19th from 2-4pm!
More info about our workshops and Lista Studios can be found on our website! 🔗
