Be a part of Songsters — as part of Jackfruit 2026, a festival of music by children, curated by Shubha Mudgal.
Songsters is a wonderful platform that brings young voices together through music, performance, and shared learning experiences.
Participation Details:
• Maximum of 7 children per school
• Venue for rehearsals and performance: PCPA, Bangalore
• Songs will be provided by music experts
• We request schools to send in videos of the children singing for evaluation and selection

Travel & Stay:
Travel into Bangalore and hotel accommodation in Bangalore should be borne by the schools/children themselves.
Bhoomija will provide:
• Local transport within Bangalore
• Food during the programme
The songs will start coming to you very soon, so schools can begin teaching them to the children online and make good use of the time.

We are infinitely grateful for the love and unconditional kindness bestowed upon us by Ustad Zakir Hussain ji - the two weeks we spent with you were as much about learning from you, sir, as they have been about basking in your presence, wit, and of course, your divine art. Thank you, Kala ji and Jayanthi ji, for trusting us wholeheartedly and sharing your incredible music with us - your seamless collaborations were a masterclass in musical synergy. Thank you to our sound maestros Mujeeb ji and Aditya. (A special shoutout to Mujeeb ji for the jokes that left us torn between wanting to laugh and wanting to cry and for also getting us hooked to Tim Tam!)

From falling in love with her performance in Nagamandala on television to finally watching her live on stage, hearing B Jayashree madam sing Karimayi was a goosebumps moment even for the nth time. She is truly one of the most extraordinary artists our country has witnessed. Once you watch her perform, the characters she brings to life stay with you forever. Such is the depth and impact of her artistry.
It was an absolute privilege to witness this beautiful evening where she shared stories from the legendary Gubbi Veeranna theatre company and presented iconic songs from various plays. Her voice, the music, and these timeless compositions are so deeply embedded in our memories that the entire experience felt like a nostalgic journey for all of us who grew up watching her performances.
