The book „dazwischen - in between - 10 Jahre Backstage mit Martin Kohlstedt“ contains on 164 pages a large amount of pictures from the years 2013-2023 and texts from 5 close companions and Martin himself. Exactly seven years ago, we were in the Netherlands at @tivolivredenburg after a very relaxed day off on which it was incredibly warm, as far as I can remember. It’s always exciting and interesting to have some time for the cities in this way. On normal tour days, there are often hardly any opportunities for this.

Twelve years ago, there was this cute little concert in a place called “Hinterzimmer” in Weimar. You could say that was before the whole big journey really took off. Everything, including the setup, was different. A sweet memory.

In meiner Laudatio zum Fotobuch "Dazwischen" (@beyond_stage ) habe ich mich zum ersten Mal intensiv mit Kunst und Fotografie auseinandergesetzt und dabei viel gelernt.
Ein Gedanke, der mich seither begleitet, stammt von Milan Kundera: Unser Leben bleibt eine Skizze, ein Entwurf, den wir nicht vollenden können. Doch gerade im Entwerfen liegt unsere Lebendigkeit.

Vor ziemlich genau 5 Jahren, wir konnten die Covid-Welle schon auf uns zukommen sehen, hatten aber keine Ahnung was da über uns alle hereinbrechen würde, gab es nach einer Tour am Jahresbeginn noch einen Videodreh zu KSYCHA „Who are you“ mit @atnaofficial .
Kaum zu glauben wie lange das alles schon wieder her ist. Und umso besser, dass das Leben seither weitgehend wieder normal ist. Zum Glück ist auch touren wieder uneingeschränkt möglich.
