As I age, the importance of reading and writing (storytelling) have become increasingly apparent in my life. As a young person of color, i’ve come to realize that people who come from similar backgrounds to mine could be struggling with emotional instability, anxiety, and depression. They also may not have the guidance to understand their resources. All of these things alter and challenge our ability to communicate with one another and the world in general. As a person of youth I’m devoted to encouraging those under me to read and write as a way to heal and more importantly a way to artistically tell your story.

World Building 🎨
It’s been a while since I last gave thanks to those who have supported me in this journey of renewal and self discovery. Photography has opened doors that I would’ve never been able to get into on my own; has allowed me to meet folks who have had major impact on me as an artist and as a human being. It’s so easy to doubt yourself get lost in the process of building, until you take a step back …
When I look at my journey I come to realize how far I come and how much I have evolved in this process. I created this exhibition as a way to differentiate myself from my past self, my old ways, and to emphasize that people who grew up similar to me can make in impact. Not just in the media industry, but in whatever form it is that they desire. Success has a lot less to do with the external validation we manage to receive and more about how fulfilled we truly are; Because success is waking up everyday and doing what you truly love to do.
Doesn’t matter where you come from, doesn’t matter color of your skin, or who you know. It’s about the inner knowing that you are capable of whatever you put your mind and spirit to; because that is how you create the world you want to see and inspire the generations to come to do the same (but 10x better).
As Creatives, Artist, or whatever you want to call it, it’s important for us to always remember that the highest act is to INSPIRE!
