Breathe the words in. Let them land where they need to. At Unsinkable, we believe in the power of story to validate lived experiences, because when one story is shared, it reminds us we’re more connected than we often realize. There’s something deeply human in seeing ourselves reflected in the words, feelings, and moments of others. As we close out Poetry Month, this piece holds that spirit. In collaboration with @resolvvetherapy , Season 2 of Braving the Waves created space for lived experiences from all walks of life to be felt, honoured, and expressed, even when words are hard to find. These stories now live beyond a single moment. We’ve created a dedicated space on our website where they can continue to be acknowledged, shared, and absorbed, allowing each experience to ripple outward and inspire connection in others. This is the heart of what we do. Story as a way in. Connection as what we build. Trust as what we carry forward. If this resonated with you, we invite you to explore Braving The Waves through the link in our bio and spend time with the stories that live there. And if something stirred in you, we’d love to hear it. Your reflection might be the connection someone else needs.✨ #BravingTheWaves #StoriesThatHeal #WeAreUnsinkable #CommunityStories #PoetryMonth

What does it really feel like to be in the room where global decisions are made? Unsinkable Champion @arissa_roy went to the ECOSOC Youth Forum hosted by the @unitednations carrying one question: how do individual voices actually shape policy and systemic change? Through her experience, we’re reminded that change doesn’t begin in systems, it begins in people. In lived experience. In the courage to speak, even when it’s uncomfortable. In the willingness to name what’s happening in the world, and to imagine something better. Arissa shares what it meant to sit among global leaders and young changemakers, to witness the power of storytelling in policy spaces, and to recognize that mental health is not separate from this work, but deeply connected to it. This is the intersection we hold at Unsinkable: where personal story meets collective change. Where youth voices aren’t just included, but essential. Because when stories are shared with honesty and care, they don’t just connect us, they shape the future. Join Unsinkable and Stepped Care Solutions upcoming Fireside Chat, Individual Story to System Change, as we explore how lived experience, when shared and held with care, can: • Help us make sense of our own journeys • Create connection across different walks of life • Challenge stigma and barriers • Shape more compassionate approaches to care and policy 🔗 Register through the link in bio and be part of shaping care that truly reflects the people it serves! #SystemsChange #StoriesThatHeal #YouthLeadership #LivedExperience #CommunityStories

7 years of Unsinkable 💛 7 years of stories being shared. 7 years of voices being amplified. 7 years of reminding each other that we are not alone. What started as a simple but powerful idea, that storytelling can connect us, has grown into a community of people who show up with courage, honesty, and heart. In 2025, we saw that power in action. From live events and youth programs to creative campaigns and community spaces, stories brought people together in ways that matter. They created connection, reflection, and a sense of belonging. Today is World Bipolar Day 💚 At Unsinkable and Just Be You, we’re continuing the conversation, raising awareness, challenging stigma, and making space for real stories. Bipolar disorder is often misunderstood. It’s more than mood swings, and no two experiences look the same. Megan shares: “When I wasn’t falling into a depressive slump, my mania allowed me to feel grandiose, powerful, and deeply connected… I felt unstoppable… The cycle of highs and lows was in full swing, and was only going to get worse.” Her story is a powerful reminder of how intense, complex, and real these experiences can be, and why understanding matters. In this post, we’re sharing: 🌿 What bipolar disorder can look like 🌿 Ways we can reduce stigma 🌿 “What I wish people knew” 🌿 How to support someone navigating bipolar disorder If you’re navigating bipolar disorder yourself, stories like Megan’s, linked in our bio, can be a place to begin. Not for comparison, but as a reminder that you’re not alone in what you’re feeling or experiencing. Your journey is your own, and it deserves care, understanding, and support. If you’re looking for additional support, organizations like the Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC) offer resources, education, and community to help you navigate in a way that feels right for you. 💬 We’d love to hear from you in the comments: What kind of support helps you feel supported? By sharing, listening, and holding space for one another, we can continue to break stigma and build a community where people feel understood and supported. #BipolarDisorderAwarenessDay #CompassionOverJudgment #WeAreUnsinkable #EndTheStigma #YouthMentalHealthMatters 👩🏽‍💻Graphics By: Jerushah Wright

When women give their stories, our responsibility is to receive them with care. This International Women’s Day, we’re taking time to listen to what women have been carrying. Across communities and cultures, many women navigate mental health challenges that are often unseen or unspoken. In Canada, nearly 18% of women report symptoms of anxiety or depression, and women are more likely to experience mood disorders during their lifetime (Public Health Agency of Canada; CIHI). Recent research also shows 16% of women report severe anxiety symptoms and 17% report symptoms of depression (Mental Health Research Canada). Behind every statistic is a lived experience, a story shaped by resilience, vulnerability, healing, and joy. At Unsinkable, we believe storytelling creates space for connection and care. When women share their stories, they help others feel seen, understood, and less alone. This year, we’re listening to what women have been carrying. If this resonates with you, we invite you to reflect with us: What have you been carrying lately? Share in the comments if you feel comfortable, your story might help someone else feel less alone. #InternationalWomensDay #StoriesThatHeal #WeAreUnsinkable #MentalHealthMatters #JourneeInternationaleDesFemmes 👩🏽‍💻Graphics By: Jerushah Wright

This Black Mental Health Week, we’re continuing the conversation with @nina_charleyy about something many young people know too well, what it feels like to grow up without seeing yourself reflected in the spaces meant to support you. Nina shares what it was like growing up in a predominantly white town, feeling isolated and unseen. For many Black youth, navigating mental health can also mean navigating racial trauma, misunderstanding, and systems that weren’t built with our lived experiences in mind. Finding therapists and community members who understand those realities can be life-changing. It creates space to talk openly, unpack what we’ve carried, and begin healing in ways that feel culturally safe and affirming. For Nina, finding community later in life has been powerful. It’s a reminder that we’re not meant to face these struggles alone. Black communities have always leaned on one another for strength, support, and survival, and those connections still matter today. At Unsinkable, we share stories like this because storytelling helps break silence and remind people they’re not alone. When we listen to each other’s experiences, we create space for healing, understanding, and hope. To Black youth navigating depression, isolation, or silent struggles: you deserve support, community, and joy. We invite you to watch the full discussion, explore our resources, and continue these conversations with us. Your story matters, and you don’t have to carry it alone. #BlackMentalHealthWeek #BlackJoy #StoriesThatHeal #UnsinkableCommunity #WeAreUnsinkable

When community comes together across the country, real impact happens, Nova Scotia, you were unforgettable 💙 In January 2026, Just Be You invited Unsinkable to deliver youth-centered mental wellness training grounded in lived experience, helping lay the foundation for safer, more supportive spaces where youth can truly thrive. Through this partnership between Anchor Youth Hub, Just Be You, and Unsinkable, we continue our shared mission of building connection and amplifying stories that heal. This in-person initiative is about more than launching a program. It’s about equipping the Anchor team to foster spaces where young people can build confidence, form meaningful friendships, share tools and resources, and come together to support one another. It’s an honour to have Maria Estrada, our incredible Youth Program Manager, representing Unsinkable Youth alongside Michele Sparling, founder of the Just Be You program, and to witness the deep care and commitment Anchor is bringing to youth mental wellness in Nova Scotia. By creating spaces like JBY, we strengthen belonging and make room for youth voices to lead the way ✨ To learn more about the Be Unsinkable Just Be You program and how you can support youth-centered mental wellness, visit our website through the link in our bio. #WeAreUnsinkable #UnsinkableYouth #JustBeYou #NovaScotiaYouthPrograms #PeerPrograms

This Black Mental Health Week, we honour the experiences that too often go unheard, especially those rooted in vulnerability, resilience, and joy. @nina_charleyy speaks openly about living with depression and the courage it takes to seek support, celebrate small wins, and choose joy in the midst of adversity. Her reminder is powerful: Black life is beautiful. Black joy is worthy. We deserve to celebrate our lives, not just survive them. At Unsinkable, we uplift these stories because storytelling bridges the gap between silence and understanding. When we listen, witness, and share openly, we reduce fear, deepen empathy, and create space for healing and empowerment. To Black youth navigating depression, pressure, or silent battles: you are worthy of joy. You are worthy of support. Even your smallest wins deserve celebration. We invite you to watch the full discussion and explore our resources to support your mental health journey. You don’t have to do it alone. #BlackMentalHealthWeek #BlackJoy #StoriesThatHeal #UnsinkableCommunity #WeAreUnsinkable

Your inner bully is loud… but it’s not the boss of you 💗 For Pink Shirt Day, we asked youth in our community what helps them quiet that voice that tears them down, and their answers are real, raw, and powerful. Because bullying doesn’t only happen outside… sometimes it lives in our own head Kindness begins with how we speak to ourselves✨ If you’re a young person looking for a space where you can show up as your full self, feel supported, and grow alongside others, the Just Be You (JBY) Program is here for you! You can learn more and sign up through the link in our bio. If you need any accessibility support to participate, we warmly welcome you to reach out to our Youth Program Manager, Maria Estrada, at [email protected]. We’re committed to making this space accessible and supportive for everyone. You don’t have to figure it out alone. 💬 Tell us in the comments: How do YOU silence your inner bully? Your words might be exactly what someone else needs to hear today. #WeAreUnsinkable #UnsinkableYouth #JustBeYou #PinkShirtDay #AntiBullyingMovement 👩🏽‍💻Graphics By: Jerushah Wright
