As promised, the other paintings that were made in this series and a little digital preview of the big one I'm working on. Sometimes I do a rough sketch in Procreate if I want to plan things out a bit more than my usual messy pastel sketch directly to a canvas. I still draw it freehand it to the canvas after but this solves composition and proportion issues before it's 5x4 feet of an issue.
Sunset (the last horse) is up in Santa Fe at Iconik Lupe until June in @curatesantafe 's Year of the Horse show.

This little painting is up until June at Iconik Lupe in Santa Fe, in the Year of the Horse show presented by Curate Santa Fe. I'm super excited to be in the show and it's also the first time I've ever applied to a show in Santa Fe. I hope to do more. This little one has a sister piece and there are a couple of other pieces in this series. I'll post those again later or tomorrow.

It's me!
I think this is my 5th year doing the tour! Wild.
I made fun of my mom for not tooting her own horn just a few posts ago, but I don't either. So...the last two years (2024 and 2025) I was the studio tour director and this year I'm the CSA president (This year Pamela Elam and Lauren Deyo are studio tour co-directors).
If I told 8 year old Beth who was drawing bunnies, unicorns and rainbows, that when she was older she would be an artist who paints bunnies, unicorns, and rainbows, I think she would be pretty damn excited. I grew up but not really. Nothing makes me happier than when a kid comes in my studio and freaks out about all the animals and the colors. Please bring your kids.
Anyway, I can't believe they put me in charge around here. Hopefully I can be a bridge to new generations of artists joining the CSA.

I pulled these photos from her social media so they probably wouldn't be what she would pick, but she's my mom and I do what I want. haha (I didn't even tag her shhh)
So excited to have her in the tour again this year. She would never toot her own horn, but she's a fantastic fiber artist. She makes pieced together art quilts that are her own creations, art journals, and really beautiful dolls.
