Back on the road! Today we play Wigtown with @bethanyporterplease and @brucekmckenzie 🔥🥔🔥🥔 We've done the Highlands, now down south to the national book town of Scotland where they filmed The Wickerman. Hopefully we come back alive 😬😬😬

Calling anyone who’d like to try some singing. No experience necessary, just come as you are 💚 It’s Spring Book Weekend 2 - 4 May with lots of talks, workshops and other exciting events. I will be based @themersewigtown running singing workshops. Saturday 2 -4pm - kids age 6 - 14 Sunday 10 - 3pm - big kids and adults Themes will be nature based, drawing largely from @lwspellsongs and the work of @jackiemorrisartist and @robgmacfarlane I’ll throw in some warm ups and rounds as we get to know each other too! Don’t worry if you can’t come to this one. I plan to do some more in the future so keep an eye out. Happy Spring 💚

Looking forward to playing a few songs on Thursday in support of this lovely project @hottiest.tottiest @thebookshopwigtown I’ll be playing at 1pm but expect a full afternoon of music from local musicians. I’ll be warming up my vocal cords for my choir workshops this weekend @themersewigtown as part of Wigtown’s Spring Book Weekend. It’s been an unusually quiet Spring for me (which I have welcomed and needed) so I’m looking forward to hopping into performer and leader mode and out of parent mode for a few hours!!

Because I’ve been a bit absent from social media over the last wee while, here’s a little (long) ramble about some nice things I’m going to be doing/have done!! I hope my posts will be shorter in the future! Thank you for bearing with me and for your support. I had to get over some barriers to do this so I hope it might help others who suffer the same! It’s been nice to be at home a bit more, especially at the start of Spring. I feel like I can emerge a bit more gracefully (despite the sickness bugs etc Bringing up small people and the perimenopause have definitely thrown some challenges but I’m trying to manage the stress and anxiety by doing a bit less (some of the time!) Anyway, a brief lowdown of some of the things… Did some cool and interesting projects with @bookshopband in Feb including finishing and performing ten new songs in collaboration with @exeteruniversity Egenis - Philosophy of Life Sciences department. Due to record these in July. We also launched our #Ozsucks EP with Pete Townshend @yaggerdang at a specially curated evening in London. Ran a 10K on Mother’s Day! Things to come 2nd April - launch of @the_untangledknot project with @john_reed_music @shirley_sings_songs @rtaylorbeales (almost forgot to tell you about this!) 11th April - Edinburgh Harp Festival with Galloway Agreement 30th April - Loch Arthur with @bookshopband 2nd May - kids singing workshop @themersewigtown 3rd May - adult singing workshop @themersewigtown 14th June - Towa Mura @catstrand New Galloway September Spell songs tour Japan tour with Towa Mura Nature album in the pipeline with @bookshopband and @magicandy81 My stuff - I recorded some songs just before and after Emmy was born - she’s now three and a half so I need to do something with them.
