This month “People’s Open Mic” is OUTSIDE & on NEW SOIL ✨ We will be joining the historic @sourceofknowledge bookstore on the Plaza @njpac in support of their monthly book club.
Join us as we activate the space, our minds, and the 🎤
If you’re feeling real NORKY we’ll make an adventure out of it and walk to the rainbow on Treat Place to close out the open mic (group vote)

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the last installment of “Presence In Portrait” for THIS season. (I conferred with the Omnipresent one and expressed the need for more of this. Prayerfully, more is in store 🙌🏽)
I was FAR from disappointed. If you saw the pictures from the last one and didn’t attend this one let me tell you something- 🗣️ THE PICTURES DID NOT LIE! What was beautifully captured digitally was only a small taste of the energy that was present in that room physically. & although Part 2 wasn’t exactly the same as Part 1 I strongly believe that the impact of both were undeniable.
@tehsuanglover vision came alive right before our eyes. Uniquely and intentionally named, “Presence in Portrait” was all that and more. @jane.tza@garycampbellpiano@bestthingcreated@jreadtheartist@ifeel.bless@euphony.i.am were living instruments all on their own. So, when it came to them playing instruments BAYBEE! We were floored in the best way possible 🙌🏽 I can still feel the vibration of their greatness.
God was in the room and we were presence for it. The room itself was alive. Full of expressions from designs, aesthetics, sketches, and artists alike. The walls had something to say. The lights were shining unapologetically. The rugs laid ready to embrace different walks of life. The stage was framed and filled with beauty. Who doesn’t appreciate a well thought out display of art??
& all of this was FREE! Thanks to the staff and community partners at EXPRESS NEWARK.

I Dream A World, the title taken from the Langston Hughes poem of the same name,
acknowledges the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the
United States of America’s Semiquincentennial. It features inspirational songs, narration
and verse that tell a story of the country we’d like America to be from the perspective
of the Black Experience. Join us for an evening of art, community and celebration.

Njpac is doing fabulous things w their arts rx program, we want to do the same types of things at our farmer’s markets and more 🫶🏽 there will be lots of vendors and organizations.. I’m holding space for arts by writing poems and making origami at my table 🫶🏽 stop by and learn about arts happenings🫶🏽
