control rooms lately
I’ve been working on a lot of cool stuff with some of my favorite people over the past few months. Some projects are still in the works, while others will be released soon. I feel very grateful to be working in these beautiful spaces alongside such talented people. ❤️
“Figuring Out My Horizons”, @casparauwerkerken ‘s debut album is out today on @v2recordsbe ! 10 wide-eyed folk songs that are a labor of love, patience and time. Loved working on this record with the sweetest people. Thank you Caspar for trusting me with your songs and Arno, Xavier and the Mauro for bringing them to life so beautifully. Thanks Rob and the entire Muziekgieterij crew for having us and doing such a stellar job engineering this record. Thanks Anton (harmonium, piano), Gerd (bugel) and Rozanne (french horn) for adding some stunning playing to this album. Close your eyes, lie down and have a listen. “Que Se Passe-t-il”, @lezardmusic ‘s debut album, is out now on @maywayrecords ! 13 tracks of frenzied post-punk, disco and electrotrash that will leave you breathless. Lézard is one of those bands that’s just overflowing with talent, and working on this record with them was an absolute blast. They’re the sweetest, most gifted and funniest people you’ll ever meet. Thank you, Neil (aka “The Talent”), Myrthe, Viktor, Roel and Duchi for trusting me with this record.
The album was recorded at AudioWorkx, with Michiel De Maeseneer doing a fantastisc job engineering it. We laughed, grooved, got terribly sick, got better (shoutout to Citrosan), had a mixing desk crap out on us and played darts, Catan and a weirdly intense football match. Neil and I mixed the album together, geeked out over limiters, weird train models and cola flavours, and Jeffrey De Gans did a great job mastering these tracks, giving them the final push.
I couldn’t be happier with everybody involved or with how this record turned out. Go buy a copy, learn the songs and dance along to these bangers at a show!

@momoyoband ‘s new album, Home Is Just a State of Mind, is out now on @wellingtonrecords ! I had a lot of fun mixing this heartwarming collection of songs about loss, making the right choices and finding yourself along the way. “Dream Life”, Marta Del Grandi’s third album, is out now on @fire_records ! We’ve worked long and hard on this one and I’m extremely proud of how it turned out. Marta is one of the most unique artists I’ve ever had the chance to work with and making a record with her is always a wonderful trip. She’s a force of nature and I absolutely adore how she can create something as lovely as her songs from little scraps, vocal lines and playful melodies. Slowly building this record together part after part, song after song and watching it unfurl before our eyes has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my career as a producer. Thank you so much, Marta, for the trust, the ongoing collaboration and most of all this beautiful record.
We were lucky enough to have a cast of amazing musicians playing on this record. Thank you Simon, Artan and Kobe for lifting these songs to new heights.
