I’ve always been fascinated by light. Creating surrealistic settings with the help of flashes is what really gets me going. Here’s a series of shots I’ve been doing the last few years where I’ve created light trails with long shutter speeds and then frozen the action with a flash. Which one is your favorite?

New work for GoPro! 🌀
For this shot I mounted a GoPro camera on the nose of the snowboard. To get the long shutter-speeds I put an ND-filter on the camera and then told Sven to spin a 360 or even more. I dropped in next to him and triggered the camera through a remote. Sven did a perfect Fs 7 and we got a shot with a cool motion blur. Looking forward to do more shots like this!
Thank you @klattermusen for letting me be part of your latest project “A different perspective”. A story about the unsung heroes in action sport, the photographers.
To see the full story hit the link in my bio and hear me, @melodyskyphotography and @terorepo_photography talk about our different approach to the craft 🙏🏻
”From the moment Daniel Bernstål @bernstal watched his older brother carve his first turns, snowboarding became more than just a sport — it became a passion. That passion took a different path in 2010, when a severe knee injury led to multiple surgeries and years of rehabilitation. During recovery, Daniel picked up a camera — and everything changed.
What started as a creative outlet quickly evolved into a career behind the lens. Since then, Daniel has gone on to shoot covers for some of the world’s biggest snowboard magazines and travel the globe capturing action, atmosphere, and story.
What was once a hobby is now his profession — and he’s more stoked than ever to keep creating.”
Meet Daniel everyone!❤️

Riksgränsen, one of the best places on earth if the conditions are good. If not, one of the worst places. Last season I got lucky. These photos are from those days together with @tursnowboards ✨
A couple of years ago me and @nik.mattsson did a similar photo like this in Kläppens halfpipe. This is another version of that shot. It was spring conditions which made it possible to do airs. Still though, even in slush it’s gnarly airing when it’s pitch black and you’re on the lowest power on the lamp. Scroll for the full photo and a really lousy BTS video 🤣 If you turn on the sound in the video you can hear when I press the shutter button and when I release it. I triggered the flashes manually with my left hand as I hold the shutter button down with my right. Big ups to @sventhorgren for riding!
